Sports Kitwe United take command of Div 1 Zone 2

Kitwe United are the new leaders in FAZ Division 1 Zone 2 after edging city-rivals Geokas Curve United 1-0 in the first ever derby between the two teams at Garden Park Stadium on Sunday.

Midfielder Rupert Musonda was the hero for the Buchi Boys thanks to his first half strike that silenced the promoted “Jerabos”.

The win pushed Chingalika to 14 points after seven matches played.

Kitwe have toppled FQM Roads who lost 1-0 at Mufulira Blackpool in Kamuchanga on Sunday.

Dan Kabaso scored the lone goal at Kachofa Stadium as Blackpool handed Roads their first loss of the season.

Roads, who have 14 points as well, dropped to second position because of an inferior goal difference.
