President has warned of removing Ministers from their ministerial positions who are not visiting their constituencies on a pretext that they were busy with ministerial duties.

The President issued the warning at Mansa Airport this afternoon before his departure to Lusaka when he arrived from Chilubi District in Northern Province enroute to Lusaka.

President Lungu said being a Minister in his government is not an excuse for being absent in one’s Constituency and those MPs who feel that they were not able to perform effectively in both portifolios should resign from their ministerial positions as the party has many candidates waiting to replace them.

He said all his Ministers must be present in their Constituencies and listen to the people who voted for them so that they can deliver on their campaign promises.

President Lungu disclosed that he was disappointed in Northern Province where he learned that developmental projects had stalled because of lack of leadership coordination as the MP was absent from the constituency most of the time.

He also urged the Party in Luapula Province to welcome the new members and those who went away during the campaign period because politics is about numbers and when united the party can succeed in the execution of developmental programmes for the people.

And President Edgar Lungu has challenged Members of Parliament to take interest in development projects taking place in their constituencies.

The President says it is unacceptable for him to learn about certain development challenges affecting communities when he inspects projects while MPs’, who are supposed to bring such issues to government, are not doing so.

The Head of State said this when he visited Lupososhi Boarding Secondary School where he learnt that the school is still incomplete due to unfinished works on the water reticulation system.

President Lungu advised Lopososhi Member of Parliament Bwalya Chungu to urgently follow-up with relevant ministries so that the remaining works at the school were completed as soon as possible.

President Lungu further assured management at Lupososhi Boarding Secondary School that government will address the issues of water reticulation system and transport at the institution.

Earlier, School Head Teacher Michael Chinika informed the President that the institution was opened in January, last year and has 373 pupils.

Mr. Chinika said the school authorities have come up with an initiative of encouraging children from within Lopososhi constituency to access education by allocating 50 per cent of school places to them.

Meanwhile, Mr. Chungu thanked President Lungu for his commitment to see to it that Lopososhi Boarding Secondary School is fully operational.

And President Lungu has called for co-existence among Zambians.

The Head of State says he will not allow any Zambian to be victimized for belonging to a particular tribe in the country.

The President said this in Luwingu when he addressed a combined meeting for civil servants and Patriotic Front members at Lopososhi Boarding Secondary School hall.

President Lungu has since encouraged government workers to feel free to work anywhere in the country and discharge their duties professionally.

He said while he continues to receive regular updates on the performance of the civil service, he will not entertain any form of victimization at places of work.

President Lungu also expressed concern with some individuals who have developed habits of reporting unsubstantiated allegations about others to him so that he can take drastic action.

The Head of State however said he does not act on unverified reports but ensures that he analyses each case objectively before arriving at a decision.

President Lungu has since cautioned those with ill-intentions about others to immediately stop such trends and instead focus on harmony in society.

And Speaking Earlier, Northern Province Minister Brian Mundubile thanked President Lungu for continuing to preach messages of love and unity.

Mr. Mundubile revealed that the President’s guidance on team-building between the two parties is already bearing fruit in the region.

He urged civil servants and PF members in Northern Province to continue embracing one another.

    • Warn? Why must everything with Lungu “the humble Christian” be about warn and caution? He seems to be the judge, hurt, and executioner. Leadership is about working together and helping each other develop. Everything ni wenyo wenyo!

    • It’s either swearing in ceremony, flying around abroad or warnings. Can you please explain his scope of work to him please

    • Brian Mundubile, Edward might be preaching love and unity but surely not living what he preached. With EVIL it is like “do what I say not what I do”. But this turdlicking behaviour is going too far in Zambia.

    • Be present in your constituencies but at the same time attend weekly cabinet meetings. Basically these MPs had no agendas for their constituents. If they had, their projects will be running smoothly. I would expect projects running with projects teams not the same minister who is also MP to work as project/programme manager. Now ministers will make allowances by making failed travels.

    • President’s message is non partisan and very objective.
Lets co-exist and resist division and violence, this is why the incarceration of HH is a good move because it restores order and unity of purpose.
All UPND cardres are my good friends, including HH whom I love as well as a Zambian.

    • lungu why not tell your ministers to stop parading themselves before you and advise them to utilize this unproductive time to visit the electorates.this is people call you visionless

  1. ECL na Warn? Why must everything with Lungu “the humble christian” be about warn and caution? He seems to be the judge, jury, and executioner. Leadership is about working together and helping each other develop. Everything ni wenyo wenyo!

  2. President Lungu disclosed that he was disappointed in Northern Province where he learned that developmental projects had stalled because of lack of leadership coordination as the MP was absent from the constituency most of the time.

THE ABOVE STATEMENT IS NOT TRUE. PROJECTS DONT STALL BECAUSE OF MPs ARE ABSENCE. JUST FUND PROJECTS

  3. He is talking about Kalaba because he seems lukewarm to Chagwa and you know how this man loves those who agree with him regardless. After his Friday 5 hours meeting at statehouse with the magistrate, he quickly makes a plan to get out of Lusaka to f00l people that he is not meddling in the court process when information about his schemes always leaks out. Anyway he is convinced that Zambians are f00lish to have mistaken his dullness for humbleness. He still can’t believe how against all odds he cheated his way to the presidency twice. Miles Sampa or HH would have done better! Why do we hate ourselves as citizens kanshi? Some provinces have not given us good presidential materials. It’s time we change the we choose leaders and perhaps embrace a Federal System!

    • Where is Kalaba going to find time to visit his area when he is trying to put out fires this lazy bum is creating abroad…at the same time he has to arrange this bum’s useless trips.

    • We are back to UNIP days where the P.I.G. (Party & its Govt) rules supreme. That’s what bankrupted the country. Money was being diverted from ZCCM to fund UNIP conventions & other activities.

    • Mumbi Phiri is Lungu’s Private Secretary. She does some Secretarial work for him in Private. They are really close.

  4. Why is his finger pointing at Kan.yo ka Mumbi Phiri’s stomach, did he adulterously plant a Nguni seed in there or what? Anyway, with her tiny ears and small nose, she’s overly ugly just like her sister Nkandu Lou. These Neanderthals from kwaNabwalya, they’re still evolving. I mean, check out the picture if Kapasa Makasa and put Nkando Luo besides it, it’s evolution still in motion, or work in progress!

  5. The reason why ministers must be outside parliament bwana
It is too late the damage is done already on tribalism bwaba as we were silent from the beginning

  6. TOO MANY WARNINGS BA PRESIDENT. IT’S HIGH TIME YOU STARTED DISMISSING SOME OF YOUR MINI-STARS IN THE MANNER YOU DISMISSED KAMBWILI. MOST OF THE MINI-STARS ARE EVEN WORSE KAMBILI.

  7. I have never understood why they go to parade themselves near the entrance of plane. This is unnecessary and its a practice that should have stopped along time ago. Its a total waste of time and government resources to go and lick someone’s a## at the airport. They call it a show of loyalty. Loyalty must be to the Republic of Zambia. Secondly, the warning of this and that in public is so childish of the president. There are proper channels of communication and follow up. Certainly not, warnings at airports. You’d wonder, what is the role of this government?

  8. The photo is so annoying to see grown up people looking like destitute. The body language seem to imply that there jobs are some sort of ransom that Lungu uses to stop people from thinking. To me they all look to be in survival mode not service mode. The lady ‘Mumbi’ fimo fimo is so arrogant to everyone else except ECL. Our service chiefs with fists clenched looking on. Our Army should be a professional Army not a PF army. IMHO, we should be getting ahead of the pack in SADC in terms of skills and capabilities instead of always participating in this sort of useless parades.

    • Everytime this Lazy Bum flies to Chongwe grown men and women have to dress up and line up to welcome him …really sad and he sees nothing wrong with it!!

  9. If you value your time, don’t waste it on Zambian Politics! There are better things to do. Why not arrange a boxing match between Edgar and HH. The winner becomes president. Kudelelana is bad. This will save our economy valuable time so that we move on. Are you aware that one year has just passed since the violent closure of the Post? Soon, it is going to 3 years since Chagwa took over from Ba Sata. What has been achieved during this time apart from politiking? And you wonder why our economy is in shambles? Until that time when we learn to VALUE TIME, we are going nowhere!

  10. When you are a UPNDonkey, you mistakenly equate HH’s money for political brains. When you are a Tonkey you even think that there is no Zambian who can be more intelligent that your own HH, even though the universities in Zambia and elsewhere are daily churning out brilliant young Zambian graduates.

    • We have more in common than you’d possibly imagine. To turn Zambia into a better country we must all unite and learn to agree or disagree with respect on any matter of concern. Insults will only serve as a wedge to divide us even more. Our common values must prevail. It is not too late to act the instinct of replying to other people’s posts with all sorts of insults. I know you can do it.

    • At least he has brains to make money. ..unlike you and don’t say he stole money from privatisation because he didn’t. He brought you shop rite and many more while your Lungu was busy stealing money from poor widows

  11. Leadership from airport tarmacs. ECL never holds press conferences but always issues threats on his subordinates just before boarding a plane.

  12. He arrives in Northern Province and the service chiefs are already there to welcome him. When he left Lusaka they were there to see him off. And with the amount of trips he makes, it means they are always shuttling around the country to make sure they are present when he steps off the plane. Unbelievable waste of resources and time! Does an ‘entire’ President need to be inspecting school buildings, housing units, roads, agricultural plots etc. all the time? He thinks that’s what it means to be President? A self-aggrandisement populist with no clue, more like. What are all those people he appointed in various positions for?

  13. Thanks Mr President for your message. Indeed the name-calling and mud-slinging in one of your Defence wings is so appaling. Your men in uniform are always living with the fear of being retired in national interest or retired for simply possessing qualities of being commanders in their lifetime. The ‘wamuyaya-attitude” by some of our service chiefs is worrisome. Protect us from petty reporting because the practice demoralizes us
