Zesco United are back at the top of Group C in the 2017 CAF Confederation Cup after a 1-0 home win over CRD Libolo on Sunday at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

An Idris Mbombo goal in the 26th minute saw Zesco reclaim top spot a fortnight after they lost 1-0 away to Al Hilal Obied on May 24 in Sudan.

The win sees Zesco open a two point lead at the top of Group C on 6 points, two more than Egyptian club Smouha and Obied who drew 1-1 in Alexandria on Saturday evening.

Libolo are bottom of Group C after sustaining their second successive loss just two weeks after losing 2-0 in Egypt to Smouha.

Zesco visit Libolo in the two sides final leg tie on June 21 in Calulo, Angola.

  1. Zesco have lost the touch they used to have. Something is really missing in this team ever since this Zlatko guy took over from Chicken George. He must up his game b4 it is too late.
