Zanaco crawl to 6th place

Zanaco again made very little head way up on the FAZ Super Division table on Wednesday when they were held at home by Lumwana Radiants.

The defending champions finished 0-0 at National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.

It was the second successive draw for Zanaco who finished 1-1 on Monday at the same venue against 13th placed Green Eagles.

Zanaco have 32 points tied with 8th placed Lumwana including Nkana who they have displaced from 6th to 7th and are six points behind leaders Zesco United.

The champions have played 17 games with four matches in hand while have three matches in hand.

Meanwhile, Zesco could extend their one point lead on Thursday when they hosts 5th placed Lusaka Dynamos.

Zesco have four games in hand heading into their date against Dynamos at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

  1. Why so many midweek fixtures in Zed? We don’t have 20 teams in the premier league do we? And are fans turning up for such games given the lack of public transport in the night?
