Zambia finally got their home leg training camp in Ndola for the 2018 CHAN qualifiers on track late on Tuesday after a 24 hour delay.

Zambia failed to travel to Ndola on Monday to kick-off their camp after landing in Lusaka on Sunday night from South Africa where they drew 2-2 on Saturday in East London.

Coach Wedson Nyirenda took his charges through the paces on Tuesday afternoon after they drove to Ndola from Lusaka on Tuesday morning.

Zambia will host Bafana Bafana on August 19 at Levy Stadium in their final leg CHAN qualifier to decide the ticket to the tournament Kenya will host this January.

“This is our first session this week,we had some problems in Lusaka when we arrived. We did not know whether we would be here or Lusaka,” Nyirenda said.

“The information came in late that we had to proceed to Ndola.

“We wanted to start off at 15:00 Hours on Monday but we could not everyone is OK and we hope for the best.”

However, missing was Power Dynamos striker Alex Ngonga who earlier withdrew from the first leg match to attended to his wedding obligations last week.

Nyirenda said he is hoping Ngonga will join the team this week after earlier featuring for Power last Saturday in a 1-1 draw against Nkwazi on the same day Zambia were in action against Bafana.

Ngonga scored Power’s goal in that match.

But it still remains to be seen if Ngonga will report for Wednesday training with Power again in action on the same date when they host Buildcon in Kitwe.

Meanwhile, Bafana arrived for the final leg on Thursday in Ndola from Johannesburg.

  1. Heroes is the best pantu Levy is no longer a slaughter house. Bafana is coming with a 5th team. Hope Nyirenda will walk over them since 10 of the players he played against on Saturday have since been withdrawn by their clubs
