Roan Member of Parliament Chishimba Kambwili has pleaded Not guilty to three counts of traffic offences.
Mr. Kambwili took plea before Lusaka Magistrate Brian Simachela at the Fast Track Court in Lusaka today.
In count one, it is alleged Mr. Kambwili was knowingly in charge of a motor vehicle bearing a false registration mark.
The vehicle in question is a Jaguar registration number AOB 2949 which was being driven by Chileshe Chileshe.
In another count, Mr. Kambwili is charged with the offence of permitting Chileshe Chileshe to drive a motor vehicle without a drivers’ licence.
It is further alleged that the Former Minister of Information is accused of having failed to display certificate of insurance disk contrary to regulation three and four of the statutory instrument Number 33 of 2015.
The three offences are alleged to have been committed on the 13th of August on Dedan Kimathi Road in Lusaka.
The matter has since been adjourned to September 21st, 2017 for commencement of trial.
Mr. Kambwili is being represented by Keith Mweemba and others.

Did Kambwili plead guilty on calling Kaiser the former Chimumbwa’s bodyguard, with only a birth certificate?

This is witch hunting for the following reasons:
a), During presidential election campaigns, cadres were allowed to drive motor vehicles with cloned number plates/ and with familiar numbers.
b), You cannot blame/charge the owner of a motor vehicle when someone else is found driving the vehicle. The culprit found with the motor vehicle should instead have been charged and the motor vehicle impounded and not the owner of the motor vehicle. It is only in cases where a firearm is involved that the owner is charged.
c), Lastly, if CK was found driving a motor vehicle which had no insurance visibly disc displayed; that is a traffic offence. But if at the time when the vehicle was stopped it was found that it was being driven by another person, two things should have happened; penalty…
Kids at play, wasting our time and money. Our Justice system is decayed and gone to dogs. I can’t believe any normal person would instruct someone to drive a car without a driver’s license. Is the driver a minor or what?? Sounds similar to HH Treason case, where HH as a passenger in the vehicle is Charged?? Kambwili for owning the car is charged.
Now I agree with other bloggers, its witch hunt coz of Kaiser’s comments. Let him show us his certificates if Kambwili is wrong??? . Maybe it’s true. Birth Certificate and Death in pending which the owner never sees anyways and is mandatory, because we will all die. Kaiser Grow-up man Kambwili will also have his DC……
Serious cases for a man who was a minister! He seems not to know the law or daring it. This is no persecution but prosecution !
Politicians! I dont know what sort of material youre made of. You never listen to advise. We began to warn KK he didnt listen, came FJT he also didnt listen now ECL is not listening. This sort of politics is not good for our country. In as much as i dont like CK’s sort of politics, my question is would these sort of charges be on him if he was in good books with the powers that be? Even CK he should see that when you lay a bed of thorns for others, eventually you will find comfort in that bed.
What if Kambwili was in Luanshya when Chileshe drove his Car? What if Chileshe removed Number plate on old car for anione nione? What if the Car was for Chileshe?
