Police in Lusaka have finally given EPP leader Chilufya Tayali a go ahead to undertake a lone protest against Inspector General of Police Kakoma Kanganja.
Mr Tayali confirmed that the police have responded to his request to carry out a lone street protest against Mr Kakoma and the Zambia Police Service for their perceived inefficiencies.
“I don’t think, this has ever happened, from my knowledge, the Police have granted us the permission to stage a lone peaceful walk from Freedom Statue to Police Force Headquarters where I will hand in a petition on a number of issues,” Mr Tayali said.
He said the walk will start at 10:00 Hours to about 11:00hrs when he will be handing in the petition to Mr Kanganja.
“As EEP, we are very grateful to the Police for allowing us to stage this protest. We hope this is a sign of change in the Police,” he said.
Tayali is a psycho! Loves to be in the news! What a failure! He doesn’t have work worthywhile to put his energies to.
Police are not supposed to “allow”…they are just supposed to be notified.

And the difference between you and him(Tayali) is that at least he is expressing himself in a way that can have an impact, whereas, you are there just criticizing day in day out. And your critique has no value and impact.
Yes, I agree, police need only be notified and no way should they be the ones determining or allowing. If the reason is for security implication, then it’s their job to protect and not to refuse.
Kanganja boys motto should be to “Serve and Protect” Zambians and not the parties.

Laughable as though it were something pleasing! The police are at crossroads for now it seems they can’t be sure of a patting on their head as PF lap dogs! A storm is gathering and would not be selective to spare the police! Giving the benefit of doubt……it could be dawning upon them that it could be the same Chilufya Tayali or somebody else they could be saluting tomorrow!

Of course Tayali has been allowed to stage a protest because he is just nonentity in Zambian politics. He is just a “muselela kwakaba” fighting for recognition and money gifts.
This boy has on several occasions begged and threatened Lungu to give him a job or else. Now that Lungu has totally ignored the boy, he wants to carry on blackmailing Lungu.
Lets imagine for a second that, Garry Nkombo informs the police about his intention to stage a protest against the police ‘s selective implementation of POA. Would Lungu allow his police to let Garry Nkombo go ahead? I for one doubt it very much.

I think they got confused. The its refers to the police but they started off by referring to the subject (police ) as a plural so it should be:

There is nothing wrong with Tiyali peacefully protesting what he does not like or sees as an injustice….that is democracy , he is better then most of you who just complain 27/10 without doing a thing or the other goroup who just clap and dance to every law and anything demanded of you by authorities…

I salute the Police for allowing Mr Tayali to protest against the IG. Denying him this democratic right would have given him other hot headed Ideas like burning the Police Service HQ down. Thats the beauty of freedom of expression at least it makes you relieve the pressure of you frustrations. Of cause Kanganja wont resign but at least Tayayi will have made his thought about him known.

Point taken, Tayali is expressing his rights in a democracy. Nothing wrong with that. Though, it is the purpose that matters. If you remember Sata and Mazoka launching their parties, they preferred to target the grassroots in the markets, compounds and set up structures in these areas. Both are dead but have left a legacy of creating the largest political parties as at present, right?? So, my point is, who is Tayali appealing to?? Is this an egotistic agenda meant to undermine authority?? Why doesn’t he go into these areas to set up structures and at least scoop some seats in the upcoming councillor by-elections?? My take is Tayali is a waste of time. He has no heart for Zambian people except his personal agrandisation while he gets freebies from known politicians who are hell bent on…

Tayali informed the police of intentions and there is nothing with him demonstrating, the reasons some of you are not allowed to demonstrate or even hold rallies is because of your violent nature and intentions ,you always want to bring about dead issues like stolen elections, petition and many other issues which does not add value to the well being of the country and intentions the people of Zambia.
