Kitwe battle Monze Swallows to face Barclays champions Zesco

Kitwe United will battle fellow debutants New Monze Swallows for chance to play defending champions Zesco United in the 2017 Barclays Cup quarterfinals.

United will face their fellow Barclays Cup newcomers in the pre-quarterfinal stage at a date to be announced by FAZ.

Zesco are gunning for an unprecedented sixth Barclays Cup title when the kickoff of their title defence in the last eight.

Meanwhile,two-time champions Power play the final-before-the-final when they visit Zanaco
in the quarterfinals.

Zanaco,who have qualified for every Barclays Cup tournament since 2007,have never won the competition.

The rest of the draws will see 2013 quarterfinalists National Assembly play Kabwe Youth Academy who also reached the last eight in 2016.

Both will be making their second Barclays Cup appearances.

Winner of this pre-quarterfinal tie will face Lusaka Dynamos in the last eight.

Napsa Stars,champions in 2012, will face 2015 winners Green Buffaloes in the final quarterfinal match.

Meanwhile, the semifinal draws will see winner of Zanaco/ Power at home against the winner of the Lusaka Dynamos quarterfinal tie.

Victor of the Buffaloes versus Napsa quarterfinal tie will be away against victor from Zesco’s last eight tie.
