CHINA Jiangxi Corporation says there is need to promote skills transfer and knowledge sharing in the construction sector to enable local people to make meaningful contribution to the growth of the country’s economy.

Company head of logistical services Emmanuel Mutale said the firm is committed to the promotion of human integral development in Zambia through delivery of infrastructure development.

“The corporation’s focus is to ensure Zambians enjoy modern world-class standards in infrastructure wherever it [China Jiangxi] has been awarded a contract, be it roads, airports, and many other important buildings.

“To appreciate efforts of local Zambians who are working hard to take the corporation’s existence to another level, China Jiangxi has started exposing its employees to new technologies for them to learn and appreciate advanced levels of development to be replicated back home,” he said in an interview yesterday.

Recently, a delegation was sent to China as a spirit of integration and to enable Zambians acquire necessary skills.

Mr Mutale said the firm believes in collective effort to enable local people to contribute positively to the national development agenda.

He said Zambians are capable of undertaking any infrastructure development project
“If only we embrace the spirit of hard work and selflessness, Zambia will be a great country in the coming years. While in China, we were exposed to many great works.

“Selflessness and undoubted patriotism are principles that have made our colleagues unique. We need to embrace such attributes as Zambians for us to develop,” he said.

And one of the delegates, who is also the company’s quantity surveyor Janice Kabwe said there is a lot to learn from the Chinese in terms of work culture, commitment, dedication and patriotism to the country.

“These ideals must be embraced for Zambia to reach such levels of development. Many Chinese cities that we visited are a marvel to watch,” she said.

  1. I agree that improvement of work culture and knowledge is important. Why not train our pipo here in zambia.
Are these same pipo travelling overseas for training get indoctrinated into the political and social philosophy of the Chinese. We are moving towards being overly influenced by China. Remember what i have said in the next 5 years

  2. China Jiangxi is marabish and u chaps came to china just for tourism? do u expect chinese cities to be compared to zambian cities when we only have 15miillion people oh sorry 11 milliion, that is excluding Tongas and lozis? china has 1.6billion people and one city more than 15million people so u expect kakunkubiti structures? Dont over praise chinese Zambians are hard workers we need motivation ONLY. I work with chinese they work in shift of 6hrs each so when zambians see continuous activity on a construction site ati they are hard hardworking atase kabiyeni uko

  3. “One’s mind, once stretched by a new idea, never regains its original dimensions”. – Oliver Wendell Holmes Sr.

Science shows that, when one’s brain is exposed to new and better ways of doing things, it PHYSICALLY expands permanently in real terms. So, the thought process changes forever. Hence, one’s horizons of ‘possible’ moves permanently. Therefore, good exposure is very important.

It brings to mind a wise old adage: – Umwana ushenda atasha banyina ukunaya.

  4. What is the relevance of RDA today since it appears the Link 8000 project has completely stalled. Whats happening to the good projects that where initiated and are in incomplete state? We dont need to go to sleep and only come and woke up one year before the elections. Lets learn some lessons from the MMDs formula 1 project, it never worked.
PF has the time, economy is doing great, copper price is on the rise and exchange rate now very stable. The rain forecast is good even for 2017/2018, but then why have we gone to sleep? Lets work now and do less talking during the 2021 campaigns as the works themselves will speak volumes, that is if we start working today!!!!!!!!!!

  5. As usual the demonic party cadres see negative and begin to plant negatives even in a sensible call! Hazaluza Hagain!
