President Edgar Lungu is scheduled to meet his Democratic Republic of Congo counterpart Joseph Kabila to discuss issues of mutual concern for the two countries.
Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Vincent Mwale says President Lungu will meet Mr. Kabila soon.
Mr. Mwale said the two leaders will also discuss issues of peace and security in the Great Lakes region.
He said the two leaders agreed to meet after they met in Angola during the inauguration of Angola’s new president.Mr. Mwale was speaking in an interview with ZNBC News in Luanda, Angola.

Is no that we are receiving refugees from the DRC and that can start posing security challenges to areas near or along our common borders, there is a simmering political crisis in DRC which requires some mediation and we have pending projects with the DRC on electricity generation and road transport infrastructure. They may need some jerking up at Presidential level!!
How can it not be in good faith?? Congolese fleeing the violence in their country are pouring into Zambia meaning even you are affected!!! That’s why ECL brought up this issue at the UN. When brenthurst and maimane were attacking Zambia calling it a dictatorship, you agreed overzealously while ignoring the REAL crisis some kilometers from your border. Maimane, Malema, Obasanjo, Scotland and the commonwealth, Odinga, Cheeseman and all who concentrated on the “Zambian Dictatorship” couldn’t see the crisis in DRC and Burundi and it took Donald Trump, thousands of kilometers away to remind you???
