Kitwe United hire ‘Barnes’ Mwansa as technical adviser

Kitwe United have confirmed the hiring of coach Steven “Barnes” Mwansa as Technical Advisor.

Club chairman Gabriel Akayombokwa believes Mwansa would add value to the Kitwe technical bench led by coach Ernest Koffi.

Mwansa, a former Indeni and Mufulira Blackpool coach, had been clubless since leaving FQMO Mining Operation two months ago.

“We have coach Barnes who is assisting the club as technical advisor. We needed to beef up the coaching bench,” Akayombokwa said.

“No contract duration but a mutual agreement. Of course we will talk at the end of the season,” he said.

Kitwe are leading FAZ Division One Zone Two with 53 points from 26 matches played.

Akayombokwa is upbeat Kitwe will clinch promotion back to the top flight league.

“We will ensure that we win promotion.
The boys should keep it up and just concentrate in the remaining matches,” he said.

Four rounds of matches are remaining before the Division One season closes
