Police have confirmed launching investigations into the matter where the family home belonging to Chipolopolo and Power Dynamos striker Alex Ng’onga was attacked by thugs on Saturday night.

Copperbelt Police Commissioner Charity Katanga said a case of malicious damage to property was reported to Chimwemwe Police Post by Ng’onga’s mother Charity Sakanya on Saturday night.

Katanga said unknown people in a white Toyota land cruiser threw stones at the house and insulted her because her son failed to score as Zambia lost 1-0 to Nigeria on Saturday.

“A case of malicious damage to property was reported to Chimwemwe Police Post by Madam Charity Sakanya mother to Mr Alex Ngonga a national team player where unknown people in a white Toyota land cruiser threw stones at her house and insulted her because her son failed to score for the national team,” Katanga said.

“The incident was reported at around 19:45 hours. The value of the two damaged roofing sheets is yet to be established but investigations have been launched and no arrests have been made so far,” she said.

And Ng’onga’s mother Charity has told journalists that she is living in fear after the incident.

She said she feared for her life when she heard that another person was threatening to destroy the house completely.

  1. As useless as he is in front of goal, Ng’onga did NOT impose himself on the team, Wada picked him. And how many goal scoring chances did the mother miss?

  2. A bunch of thieves, work hard and earn money than involve yourself in evil deeds. You children of the devil.

  3. Blaming Ngonga for not scoring is the same as blaming him for not playing for Arsenal in the EPL instead of the team where he is now. Its NOT by chance that Ibe plays for arsenal and that Victor Moses plays for Chelsea. Ngonga did his best at his level. Ama LEVELs yalipusana

  4. Had he scored (N’gonga) would they have gone to congratulate
his mother for bearing a such a child?

Poverty way of thinking at its worst… i guess.
