Zesco United on Tuesday bounced back from their 2017 Barclays Cup exit with a 1-0 away FAZ Super Division win over Red Arrows at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka.
The league victory saw the 2016 runners-up and five-time champions move one notch up on the table from 55th to 54th.
Striker Jesse Were scored the game’s lone goal in the 70th minute to see Zesco soothe their failure to defend the Barclays Cup this year.
The win also came three days after Zesco were beaten 4-2 on post-match penalties following a 0-0 semifinal draw at the same venue on October 14.
Zesco rise to 52 points, four points behind leaders Green Buffaloes and are two adrift of defending champions Zanaco who are 2nd on the log.
Meanwhile, Zesco stay in Lusaka for a third straight game when they face 3rd placed Lusaka Dynamos this Saturday.
Dynamos have 53 points.
