The devastating Army works have broken out in Lusaka again.
Communications and Transport Minister Brian Mushimba confirmed in an interview on Tuesday in Lusaka.
Army worms were detected at the Mount Makulu farming block in Chilanga.
Mr Mushimba said officers from his office and the Ministry of Agriculture received the reports last week and undertook surveys to verify the reports.
He said the rest confirmed that the Army worms that have broken out are a different type known as Army Worms Type 4, slightly different from the fall Army worms that broke out last farming season.
Mr Mushimba said Government has since stepped out interventions to contain the further spread of the Army worms.

Why is the Minister of Transport and Communication talking about “Army works” – maybe that’s why LT can’t get the name right. Perhaps if the Minister of Agriculture had given the report, we would have a different story…..just saying.
