Mushimba warns Zambians to be wary of fraudsters using E-mails

Following a recent increase in deceptive schemes designed to defraud members of the public via email in which perpetrators of the scam are asking individuals to deposit some money in a standard chartered Bank account based in Tanzania, the Ministry of Transport and Communications has warned the public to be wary of fraudsters using E-mail messages to obtain money from individuals on grounds that they have been offered free motorbikes.

In a press release , Transport and Communications Minister Brian Mushimba states that the fraudsters are using the names of the Ministry and of the Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) to obtain money by false pretenses asking individuals to deposit a sum of K500.00 in a standard chartered Bank account.

Engineer Mushimba disclosed the names of the swindlers as Ramadhan Mfaume of Real Time Transporters in Dar es Salaam and Daniel Mwila adding that the Ministry of Transport and Communications does not send any unsolicited business communications to individuals because its financial transactions are directly and exclusively with the Government.

And Engineer Mushimba has since warned the public against various forms of cross- border fraud, advance fee scams sent by e-mail or hard copy letter in which the Ministry of Transport and Communication’s name has been used to induce the members of the public.

“I want to warn the public to be wary of fraudsters using E-mail messages to obtain money from individuals on grounds that they have been offered free motorbikes” Mushimba warned

  1. In the same vein, Hon. Mushimba, do not forget to warn us the voters of fraudsters and swindlers you work with in the PF government and add that come 2021 at the polls action must be taken …

  2. ‘Engineer’ Mushimba? What is that? You want accountants to begin calling themselves ‘Accountant’ xxxx or ‘Lawyer” yyyy? Nonsense! He is simply Mr Mushimba.

    • They have just left the ‘stadium of prayer’ where they were calling each as Pastor Xyz, Bishop abc, Apostle xxx and now it has become fashionable to call each other Engineer xxx, Malukula !!!!, Kapaso Kaizer Zulu, Big mouth Amos Chanda

  3. HERE OUR MINISTER OF TRANSPORT & COMMUNICATION IS TRYING TO BE RESPONSIBLE ENOUGH TO ALERT WE THE MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC TO BE WARY ABOUT WHAT IS PREVAILING ON THE GROUND IN TERMS OF EMAILS THAT ARE CIRCULATING FALSE HOOD IN OUR COUNTRY. BUT UNFORTUNATELY MOST OF US SEEM TO BE PREOCCUPIED BY THE FIRE TENDERS ISSUE SO MUCH THAT WE HAVE STOPPED THINKING ABOUT OTHER DANGERS SURROUNDING US IN OUR COMMUNITIES. LET US BE SERIOUS. AS I AM SPEAKING MY NEPHEW WAS A VICTIM TO THESE CON MEN. SO BWANA MINISTER YOU ARE SPOT ON.
