President Edgar Lungu has congratulated his counterpart President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping on his resounding re-election as Secretary General of the Communist Party of China Central Committee at the Party’s 19th National Congress.

In his congratulatory message, the President also hailed Mr Xi for the successful holding of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.

The President said the re-election of Mr XI as Secretary General of the Communist Party of China is an endorsement of the trust the Party has in his proven and able leadership evidenced by his vision of building China as a moderately prosperous modern socialist country by 2020.

“I have no doubt that with Your Excellency’s tested leadership, which is anchored on your deep feelings and tight bond to your people resulting into a people-centred philosophy. You will certainly rally the Party and the People of China in realising the Chinese dream of national rejuvenation.”

The President reassured Mr XI of the Zambian government’s support and desire to continue building on the existing excellent bilateral relations between Zambia and China for the mutual benefit of the two countries and peoples.

“Allow me on behalf of the Government, the people of Zambia and indeed on my own behalf, to convey our sincere congratulations on your resounding re-election as Secretary General of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and also for the successful holding of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,” the President said.

And more World leaders have conveyed messages of congratulations to His Excellency Mr Edgar Chagwa Lungu, President of the Republic of Zambia and the people of Zambia on the commemoration of Zambia’s 53rd Independence Anniversary which fell yesterday.

Russia’s President Vladmir Putin in his congratulatory message expressed confidence that the friendly relations between Zambia and Russia will further develop for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries. President Putin hoped that Zambia and Russia will continue to work together towards enhancing security and stability on the African continent.

“Please accept my sincere congratulations on the occasion of the independence day of the Republic of Zambia. I wish you sound health and success, and peace and prosperity to all Zambian citizens,” President Putin said.

And Saudi Arabia’s King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud wished the President continued good health and prosperity as well as steady progress and prosperity to the Zambian people.
“Accept, Your Excellency, my regards and consideration,” the King said.
