Jesse Were is 2017 Zesco’s best player

Striker Jesse Were has win his debut Zesco United Best Player Award.

The Kenyan international striker s’ honour was one of two he won in Ndola on Saturday night during the club’s annual end of season awards dinner.

Were, who scored 23 competitive goals for Zesco , also retained the Golden Boot Award.

He joined Zesco in the 2016 season from Kenyan club Tusker.

Were’s strike partner Lazarus Kambole also won two awards.

Kambole won the Most Improved and Most Valuable Player Award’s.

He scored 10 goals this season and has just been handed a debut Zambia call-up for Chipolopolo’s 2018 CHAN pre-tournament training camp that kicked off in Lusaka on December 11.
Other recipients on the night included midfielder Kondwani Mtonga who took home The Fans Player of The Year Award while defender Ben Banh won The Most Disciplined Player Award.

Coach Tenant Chembo was awarded the Zesco Chairman’s Award.

The Zesco assistant coach has just guided Zesco to its 6th league title after he took charge ten games ago when his boss Zlatko Krmpotic was sent on forced leave.
