Kabwe quits Power Dynamos

Share

Danny Kabwe is staying quiet over his next destination after quitting as Power Dynamos coach.

Kabwe resigned from the Arthur Davies job on Friday after one and half years in charge.

“The reasons are purely personal and that is all I will say but I will take time off to reflect,” Kabwe said.

“I have heard speculation linking me with this club or that but that is all pure speculation.”

Kabwe joined Power in June, 2016 following Tennant Chilumba’s dismissal and led the Kitwe club to a 4th place finish.

However, nothing quite went right in2017 when Power failed to defend the Samuel ‘Zoom’ Ndhlovu Charity Shield before ending the league campaign in 6th place.

Kabwe is the third high profile resignation at Power in the off-season.

Chairperson Bobbline Chembeela and secretary Ricky Mamfunda quit in December and early January respectively.

  1. Danny Kabwe, dont lie.you have been given a job as a coach of Lusaka Dynamos FC while Mr Patrick Phiri shall now be Nakambala FC coach.
But you should know at LD money do not flow like at Power Dynamos.LD officials will promise you heaven on earth but you will get nothing.coaches and players are owed a lot of money from 2017 season and to date they are not paid.in Zambia it better to play or coach a team sponsored by companies such as Zanaco,Zesco,Power Dynamos,Nkana,Red Arrows,Lumwana,Nakambala,Forest Rangers,Green Eagles,GBFC,Nchanga, etc than a personal club such as LD or Buildcon because payments are not predictable!!SO DANNY KABWE AND YOUR NEW ASSISTANT GAZA AT LD YOU WILL REGRET HAVING RESIGNED FROM POWER DYNAMOS!!!go well DK!!

    • if it is true he is going to Lusaka dynamics then he will regret. People just admire even houses when they see a beautiful roof but don’t know what’s inside. Owners of LD claim to have millions but owe players and even their own workers so much money. The owner says he is rich from govt contracts but on the ground he owes almost all the landmarks money which he has failed to pay and is constantly running away from people he owes. So back Danny..we are advising you not to be cheated by upstarts and leave an established team run by a credible institution with people who have a credible background

  2. Departure of DK is sad development. CEC should have foreseen this going by EXCO resignations. Power is just participating without any ambitions of winning anything. I wouldn’t be supprised if this team ends up like Roan.

  3. Cont. I call upon management to engage coach who ‘ll bring radical changes . Most players must be declared redundant. While we appreciate their contribution to the club, mudenda,Jimmy, ngwenya,
Larry ,chungu should be layed off.

  4. LD is a failed project which Mr Kabwe will regret going to. The owner thinks he is rich from the fire trucks he sold to govt plus th fertilizer he sales via FISP…but once govt changes…that will evaporate as they will be scampering trying to hide the corruption..
