Zesco United hit second gear in Zanzibar

Zesco United got a feel of the match venue on Thursday on day two following their arrival in Zanzibar on Wednesday ahead of Saturday’s 2018 CAF Champions League date against JKZ.

Zesco face JKZ in a preliminary round first leg match to be played at Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar.

Tenant Chembo’s side switched from Abdul Rahman Sumait University grounds where they trained upon arrival on Wednesday to adopt to the artificial pitch at Amaan Stadium.

All 18 players came through day two without any hitch as Zesco settled down in the cool weather conditions of Zanzibar.

Meanwhile, Zesco captain and goalkeeper Jacob Banda said the team was confident of getting a positive result away from home.

“As Zesco United we are very prepared having gone through the pre-season training we had in South Africa. My colleagues and I are all ready for this encounter,” Banda said.

“The camping was a fruitful one and a good one and we prepared well for this encounter and I am sure come Saturday we will show what we had done in South Africa.”

  1. The beginning of the end for ZESCO. BAckroom staff are also key to the success and you dont just wake up and four at a go.
