Thieves utilize the heavy downpour to steal goods worth K 20, 000 from UCZ church in Ndola

Thieves broke into United Church of Zambia, Kawama congregation in Ndola last night and got away with goods worth K20,000 .

ZANIS reports that UCZ Congregation Secretary, John Kasheli confirmed the incident which took place around midnight last night as the guard was fast asleep.

Mr. Kasheli said the thieves took advantage of a heavy downpour that characterised most parts of the city and managed to away with stolen goods which includes one deep freezer fridge, keyboard, amplifier, curtains, garden chairs, PA system cables and speakers among other items.

The congregation Secretary said the church, however, managed to recover the garden chairs which were found concealed around Kawama football pitch.

He added the matter has been reported to police.

Mr. Kasheli described the development as unfortunate and since appealed to police to intensify patrols in the area.

  1. So thieves stole because it rained on that night? This doesn’t make sense bs journalism and you tell the guard was asleep on duty? Then you don’t need a guard if this guy is in deep sleep at midnights.

  2. And this is the nation they call a Christian nation; people stealing from a church; i forgot that their leader said that ubomba mwibala alya mwibala; he who works in the field eats / steals from the same field;

  3. And how can you keep K20,000 in the church which is just a hall??? How can you keep forcing people to pay tithe without using it?? Thieves have enjoyed the tithe for UCZ.

  4. @Daka Bushe ulomfwa, ala baletila at baiba ifipe ifili no mutengo uwinga fika pali K20,000.00 te actual money. Iwe Chipata guy. Any way very sad for the thieves because we read the bible: thy shall not steal.
