Zesco visit embattled Etoile in Tunisia

Zesco United face Etoile du Sahel away in Tunisia on Wednesday night with the hope of joining Mbabane Swallows at the top of Group D in the 2018 CAF Champions League.

Kickoff is at 21h00 in Sousse in what will also be Zesco’s debut visit to Tunisia.

Zesco and Etoile are tied on 1 point while Swallows top Group D on 4 points after beating Primeiro de Agosto of Angola 1-0 on Tuesday afternoon at home in Swaziland.

And Zesco face an Etoile who are in a crisis with reports that their coach Khaireddine Madhoui has resigned after a poor run of results.

Furthermore, Etoile come into the match after two successive competitive domestic defeats since they drew 1-1 away in Luanda on May 5 in a Group D opener against Agosto and are third on the league table and out of the title contention.

But Lwandamina has warned Zesco to be wary of the embattled 2007 African champions.

“That is why this game will be very difficult because they wouldn’t want to lose again. We have to be very careful,” Lwandamina said.

“If we go with in that mentality that they have lost two successive games, and then we think we will also beat them, we will get a surprise.”

Meanwhile, Zesco have no injury worries or suspensions heading into the match and strikers Jesse Were and Lazarus Kambole will be critical in leading the charge in the Ndola sides hint for a debut away win in North Africa where they have left with two successive draws in their last trips to the region.
