The Ministry of Home Affairs has confirmed that Home Affairs Minister Stephen Kampyongo has upheld the decision of the Chief Registrar of Societies to cancel the registration of the Democratic Party.
In a statement, Ministry of Affairs Spokesman Nephas Chifuta said the Democratic Party does not therefore exist forthwith.
“Anyone purporting to be an official or member of the said Democratic Party would be in breach of the law and would be dealt with in accordance with the law. The Minister of Home Affairs Honourable Stephen Kampyongo MP., shall issue a comprehensive statement on this matter in due course,” Mr Chifuta said.

I have no respect for these clowns like the Dwarf Kalaba (and BUFFOON CK) who is afraid to resign his MP seat under PF as he wants to continue eating whilst he is at the same time calling PF thieves. I don’t know what the clause states about re-contesting but there is something that is scaring these chaps making them cling on.
Nothing wrong with challenging a Party like PF if you belong to it, but as well nothing wrong with challenging the PF if things are going wrong.
We need serious training for our journalists. Half of the stories you cannot make head or tail out of them. No one dares to even update the reader on what is going on. I have tried to follow this story but cannot find any reason(s) advanced for deregistration of this political party. It is your job you journalists if you care to go an “extra mile ” to keep your audience in the picture of how and why? otherwise you should call yourself a secretary or a simply a scriber. Any one who reads this story now will have absolutely no clue of what led to the deregistration of this party. Why do we have to wait for a comprehensive report from the politicians before we can understand what is going on? Where is the investigative journalism?
Kelvin, my guess is that the Party was deregistered because its founding president is still a member of another party-PF. The strategy must have been that some people other than Kalaba register the party and there after launch the party with Kalaba as its president. NDC is untouched because they have not come out in the open to announce CK as their president. The moment that happens, NDC will be registered because as it is CK is still PF. These cowards need to come out in the clear and renounce their PF membership to take up their new party positions. But of course the issue of gratuity comes into play. You can’t trust such politicians. They are self centred.
Meant NDC will be deregistered.
Kalaba should join UPND. He will fit in very well. All persons with mental issues are easily absorbed and they fit in perfectly in this party, especially those with visual and auditory hallucinations.

but why should Kalaba hang on to PF while holding a position of president in another party. Illogical what this is.
Kalaba is just fooling himself, his wife and his concubines, he has no political feet to stand on. The Registrar must also deregister Daniel Pule’s Christian Democratic Alliance as its existence is in violation of the Constitution which states that no Party shall be founded on religious beliefs.
