Defender Bornface Sunzu has declared that in-form Green Eagle want to beat Zesco United on Friday to stand a chance of qualifying for the 2018 Barclays Cup.

The FAZ Super Division this weekend reaches the half mark with the top six teams booking a place in the Barclays Cup.

Coach Aggrey Chiyangi’s Eagles are currently enjoying good form that has seen them record four straight wins with the latest being Sunday’s 2-1 victory over Nkana in Choma.

“Everyone is working hard in training and we are united as players. We are applying what we are learning in training,” Sunzu said.

Sunzu believes Eagles can overcome Zesco in the Week 19 match at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.

“We can beat Zesco. If we beat Nkana at home what can stop us from beating Zesco? And if we beat them we will play Barclays Cup,” Stoppila’s young brother said.

“We want to play Barclays very much. Eagles have never played Barclays Cup before. We want to have a feel of playing in the Barclays Cup,” he said.

Seventh placed Eagles have 29 points, one point behind sixth placed Power Dynamos, after 17 matches played.
