Zesco United stayed four points clear after collecting their eighth win to extend their unbeaten league run at the top of the 2018 FAZ Super Division table to ten games.
The leaders and defending champions beat 11th placed Lusaka Dynamos 1-0 at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola thanks to a 22nd minute goal from striker Jesse Were.
Zesco have 48 points ahead of second placed Green Buffaloes who also won by the same margin at home in Lusaka against Kitwe United.
Buffaloes striker Youremember Banda scored the game’s only goal in the 85th minute.
Zanaco are third and ten points behind Zesco after dispatching Nchanga Rangers to their seventh successive league defeat.
Zanaco won 2-1 at home thanks to a Martin Phiri brace at Sunset Stadium in Lusaka while Harrison Kaonga scored third from bottom Nchanga’s first goal in five games.
Kabwe Warriors exchanged places with Power Dynamos to go to 4th after a 1-0 home win over Nakambala Leopards thanks to an Emmanuel Okutu goal in the 68th minute at Godfrey ‘Ucar’ Chitalu Stadium.
Warriors have 35 points, one more than Power who drew 1-1 away at promoted Kabwe Youth Soccer Academy in the lunchtime kickoff at the same venue.
Power could have left Kabwe with the three points but Alex Ng’onga could only convert one of two penalties they won on the day.
Ng’onga was on target in the 27th minute but missed the second in the 71st minute after Clifford Saidi had equalized in the 37th minute.
Nkana are 6th on 33 points after ending their two-match losing draught when they beat Forest Rangers 2-1.
Ronald Kampamba and Idris Mbombo were on target in the 2nd and 72nd minutes respectively while Gerald Chisha scored for Forest in the 61st minute.
