President Edgar Lungu has appointed Major General David Muma to act as Zambia Air Force Commander following leave taken by ZAF commander Lieutenant General Eric Chimese.
In a statement from ZAF Public Relations Office, the appointment of Major General Muma, is pursuant to the powers vested in the president under article 98 section 2 of the constitution of Zambia.
“Arising from the foregoing, President Lungu has also appointed Brigadier General Chintu, who will act as deputy air force commander and chief of air staff,” read the statement.
He looks like Lt. Gen Chimese too! All the best Maj General Muma! It is still as mad as a kao.

Chimese will go down as the most corrupt chap among the service chiefs past and present. I have a number of friends in ZAF and none seems to have any kind words for this man. They narrate how he uses junior officers to syphon cash from the Air force coffers. Every month, these boys take chunks of cash to his office. And he thinks he is clever, for instance, ZAF would pay money to petrol stations where they maintain fuel account. With the help of petrol station managers, he would send the poor boys to withdraw money from the petrol stations and they boys would handover hard-core cash to him, leaving no trail of his thievery. He has built many houses in Lusaka from money he has corruptly acquired. I’m sure the officers in ZAF are celebrating that he is on suspension.
