Zesco United on the cusp of seventh heaven

Zesco United can retain the FAZ Super Division title with two matches to spare should they beat struggling Nchanga Rangers in Wednesday’s round 36 match at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

Zesco are chasing their seventh league title.

Ahead of the Nchanga clash, Coach George Lwandamina’s side lead the table with an eight-point gap having collected 77 points from 35 matches played.

Second placed Nkana have 69 points after playing 35 matches.

Zesco defeated relegation threatened Nchanga 2-0 in the first round match played in Chingola.

Meanwhile, Nchanga must beat Zesco to remain in the race for survival.

Elsewhere on Wednesday, Nkana, Green Eagles and Green Buffaloes will be fighting for the second position as they play midweek matches.

Nkana can consolidate their second place when they host third placed Eagles at Nkana Stadium in Kitwe.

Fourth placed Buffaloes have a date against Power Dynamos at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe.

Buffaloes have 68 points and sixth placed Power sits on 56 points.

  1. Comment:Z Zesco have proved too good for local league but they need reinforce their team to compete in the champions league. Buy reputable professional players not some of these that have flooded Zambian teams with no proper background. Don’t we have a system in place to scrutinize these so called professionals?.

    • @Chimayi, get the fuuuck out of here, we don’t want you haters of foreigners. Why don’t you send your Zambian players to Kenya league. What’s wrong with your players?
