Kabwe Warriors target 2019 honours

Share

Kabwe Warriors want to challenge for the FAZ Super Division title next season.

Warriors finished seventh in the ended campaign and were 22 points behind champions Zesco United.

Club coach Tennant Chilumba believes Warriors have assembled a team capable of grabbing a top-two finish.

“Last season we wanted to finish in the top four so that we play continental football but we didn’t play well at the end,” Chilumba said.

“Warriors of course is a big team, looking at the way we played last season, in 2019 we can challenge for the top two or winning the league,” he said.

The club recently beefed up the technical bench by re-engaging Levy Chabala and Happy Sichikolo as Chilumba’s assistants.

“I am happy we have brought in another two assistant coaches with big experience. These are Levy “Chubby” Chabala and Happy Sichikolo.”

Chilumba added:“We also have brought in few players. So far so good it is a youthful team. I think we are now ready for the new season.”

Defender Christopher Munthali is one of the players Warriors have recruited for the 2019 campaign that is scheduled to begin in January.
