The three church mother bodies have rescheduled the date for the national dialogue and reconciliation process from January Friday 4, to 18, 2019.

According to a communique issued by the three church mother bodies namely the Council of Churches in Zambia (CCZ), Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ) and the Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops (ZCCB), the date for the national dialogue and reconciliation process was changed so as to allow political parties to adequately prepare for the dialogue meeting.

The church mother bodies has since appealed to citizens, political leaders and their general membership to observe the set date and attend this important event.

Meanwhile, the three church mother bodies have described the December 28, 2018 national dialogue and reconciliation meeting held at Kapingila House in Lusaka as successful.

A total of 23 political parties attended the consultative national dialogue meeting where various national issues were tabled.

The three church mother bodies revealed that the submissions which political leaders made to the church were constructive and encouraging.

However, the three church mother bodies regretted that President Edgar Lungu of the Patriotic Front (PF) and other political parties did not turn up for the dialogue meeting.

The church mother bodies explained that the Head of State failed to show up for the meeting as State House did not receive the confirmation of the meeting on time.

On Thursday last week, President Lungu’s Special Assistance for Press and Public Relations Amos Chanda disclosed that State House had not received any formal invitation for the Head of State to attend last Friday’s consultative meeting called by the Church mother bodies to prepare for the national dialogue process.

The communique was signed by ZCCB President Bishop George C.Z Lungu, CCZ President Bishop Sydney Sichilima and EFZ Board Chairperson Bishop Paul Mususu.

  1. This is good, because PF said that they are not available on 5th as the have a scheduled meeting adopting candidents for up coming elections.

    • What is there to dialogue about when the key player, the person around whom the dialogue should be centered, Lungu is not participating? What reconciliation are you talking about when you are planning of an inquiry on privatization? There is circus in this country.
Just keep stealing money through sitting allowances.

    • This problem is a creation by HH. He lost elections. Yet when he goes to Southern Province talking to people who don’t have Open Eyes – he tells them that he is the designated President of Zambia and Lungu should not be in State House.

Therefore we have packets of Zambia who strongly believe in fallacies that HH is president of Zambia.

This dialogue should be discussed in parliament with the help of the speaker.

That’s why we elect these chaps (MP’s) to discuss national matters.

In as good as this maybe, this is a waste of time.

As long as HH tells his base those lies about him being the president. There will no solution to this. He creates this fire.

Besides both PF & UPND are playing a Chess Game.

    • They look really good those bishops
It is sad that PF don’t want to face these wise men.
They should discuss PF’s privatization inquiry.

    • So ZCID is underplaying and dribbling the so-called “churches”?
Bu Mambala is everywhere…..starting at @1. Shame

  2. This church political dialogue thing cannot happen in America or Europe. Currently the church in the world is under seige to exonerate its many years of child abuse scandals . same should happen here.
The church mother bodies party is not a representative of the people of Zambia .
Zero power under the laws of Zambia for CMB to summon the republican president to some resemblance of a kangaroo court.

  3. @INDEPENDENT OBSERVER, No one is preventing Edgar Chagwa Lundu to convince Zambians that he won the elections. After all he was sworn in even if by a court clerk. Le him behave as president and not forcing people to recognise him as such. Let him get on with the job fitting a president, failure in doing so attracts further and wide rejection that he won the elections.

      Are you psycho!

So your HH is not willing to recognise Lungu. And yet is willing to visit Lungu to state house and have a private meeting calling him Mr President.

As far a Lungu is concerned, Zambians know that he is a working president.
You guys need to come out from the slumber.

  4. Now these church mother bodies, have they consulted ZCID? Last time the Board of ZCID decided to postpone the dialogue, and correctly so because there was no agenda, not even an official invitation by the church mother bodies to the head of state. I think the President must not trust these church mother bodies to do things properly alone, let ZCID participate. The way I see it the church mother bodies, or uncle bodies whatever, are deliberately playing hude and seek with ZCID, they dont want to share information with ZCID. We have to be suspicious, me I think the President must refuse to attend unless ZCID is part of the process. Just dont trust these bodies from the mortuary, could be dealing with ghosts.

  5. Of what legality is this dialogue? Are they going to sign a memorumdum of understanding without people who vote. This dialogue is meaningless. May be let them show voters the agenda because voters will not agree to what ECL and HH are going to agree on by themselves

    • They think Edgar will give HH a chance to win. Come to think of it these men dressed in women dresses are talking about democracy but have they bothered to ask HH why he hasn’t allowed another person to lead the Upnd? These are signs that the man is thorough bred dictator.

  6. ECL and PF don’t want Dialogue which could lead to Electoral and Constitutional Reforms. They want ECZ, Concourt, ZPS and the entire Civil Service to remain State Captured. The idea is that ECL and PF will rig the 2021 Elections again to retain Power and protect their Stolen Wealth. The writing is on the Wall.

    • Ask VJ and he will tell you that elections can not be rugged. Besides what electoral reforms are you talking about. Or you’re just paroting what others are shouting about but without meaning. If PF were able to rig elections how come HH got 99% in Southern, Western and North Western Provinces? Come on people let’s be realistic. Guy Scott was acting President and was backing HH in the 2015 elections so was Edgar able to rig that election when Scott had all the powers to swing the election in favor of HH? Reason is like VJ said. ..it’s not possible to rig the election.

  7. So far the church is okay but the only part will bring us more problems is PF . more unlearned people are in that part meaning is the party of mafias or criminals.

  8. Rubbish, what’s there to talk about? Oh please Edgar let HH win the 2021 elections to avoid bloodshed. …I suppose that’s what these fallen angels will have on their agenda. And Kambwili is still PF by virtue of him still representing the party as Roan MP so where’s the morality in this meeting and its conveners?

    • It’s not about Edgar letting anyone win but rather leveling the playing field . If you understand this then you’ll stop ranting unnecessarily. Anyone can win including your lungu but let him win without abusing the Public Order Act, ECZ, police, Judiciary etc. Thanks

    • Leveling what field? Sata won under the same conditions while Upnd have been losing for the past 20 years under the same conditions. Even in the United States of America the field is not as flat as a piece of paper. So the playing field is only level in Southern Providence. You can talk about the POA without understanding its purpose because your mind is clouded with nonsense of wanting HH go to State House. Besides you guys campaigned against the repealing of Bill of Rights.

  9. First there was scotland then Gambari now the church being used for a prefered individual by the strategists behind the scheme.
In Rwanda the Church in some way is actually reported to have exercebated the genocide.
The church was used by colonialists to subdue africans and then colonised their territories. Then resources exploitation , racism and repression were the result.
Declaration of christaian nation is purely for worship and not political governance.
In short , the church should not meddle in plolitics because it just does not have the constitutional mandate to do so.

    • Bishop Tresphor Mpundu Emeritus is behind the whole thing. What he forgets is that people can’t be mislead like they did in 1990. Remember the Bishop was prompted to go for early retirement by the same people the Upnd thinks can be influenced by the bishops to rise against government 1990 style.

  10. I’m only here to advise the bishops to do two things:

    i) Go on some diet guys including fasting. They look too fat to represent God. Jesus was never a fat dude. He was a man always in shape. He exercised and ate healthy, and fasted to secondarily lose weight while primarily speaking to his dad.

ii) When in a jacket, please NEVER NEVER button the bottom button. It’s against the dressing etiquette. It’s as bad as a man leaving his fly open!
