  1. Having spent $17 billion, we still have child slaves in Zambia striving to feed their families ,

    may MTSRIP

On top of struggling families we have that silly woman Mrs lungu sees fit to take a 25 man delegation on a chartered jet to look at 2nd hand fire trucks and shopping in the USA ….using GRZ money…

    • – Our youths have been condemned to die in illegal mines due to failed PF leadership. An 11-year old should in school, not underground!!!
      – Youths from west africa, eritrea are being enslaved in Libya others die in capsized boats in mediterenean sea trying to flee from their failed states caused by poor leadership.
This crop of self-enriching leadership is Africa’s worst curse, worse than colonialists.

    • Mushota

What do you mean money has nothing to do with the loss of lives ??

Do you think those youth were mining manganese for fun ???

    • My friend at the height of Mwanawasa”s tenure 20 boys without safety gear and only using domestic torches entered a mine in Kitwe using an old shaft. When the security patrol discovered the cover for the disused shaft had been removed, an alert was made and the proto team together with Zambia police were called to investigate. It was discovered that these boys ranging from 10 to 20 years had been engaged by a Chibuluma township based businessman to steal cables. They had been there for days cutting cables. So it has nothing to do with who is in power. ..people want money and more money. Just ensure your children are at home.

  2. The chinese and mukula, now its the Chinese and manganese ore, people are destroying their once virgin fertile lands, just to sell manganese to the Chinese for peanuts.

  3. Mushota,

the death of those 3 youngsters has ‘nothing to do’ with money???
Do you think they were in that mine for fun, dodging school to play hide and seek?
Acc. to the report, they were there “to mine Manganese”

  4. I thought the mining issues are the government duties to take care of , really if the government is taking time to create jobs in an industry known to the public it creates problems.
The government should move in quickly and find an investor to start mining manganese in luapula province to mitigate such accidents.

    • There investors there but some don’t secure their mines. This is where MSD must come in especially where disused mines are concerned. I remember as teenage boy how we used to sneak in areas surrounding the Nchanga Open Pit looking for malachite. Why we did that I will never understand. I only stopped when one of the illegal miners got to trapped to death in the quick sand of a slimes dam.
