MTN sponsors 2019 Charity Shield final

MTN Zambia has sponsored the 2019 Charity Shield in a one off deal worth K125, 000.

The deal was unveiled during a media briefing held at Sherbourne Hotel in Kitwe on Friday.

‘We are aware that the Charity Shield has not been sponsored for several years now, so we took it upon ourselves to show further commitment to the most popular sport in Zambia by contributing K125,000,’ MTN Northern Region General Manager John Muyawala said.

Zesco United and Nkana are clashing in the Charity Shield final on Saturday at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe.

‘To the big giants playing off the Samuel ‘Zoom’ Ndhlovu Charity Shield final, MTN Zambia is waiting for a good game, May the best team win,’ Muyawala said.

FAZ Communications Manager Desmond Katongo hailed the sponsorship deal.

‘FAZ is thrilled by MTN Zambia’s decision to become the platinum sponsor for the 2019 Samuel ‘Zoom’ Ndhlovu Charity Shield,’ Katongo said.

Proceeds from this competition including the K125, 000 from MTN will be given to a charitable organisation to be chosen by the FAZ patron.
