UPND Committed to the Opposition Alliance, failure to unite will spell Doom for Zambia

1. Katuta you want other opposition parties to fight your battles, shame on you and UPND.

The so called Alliance of Political parties died instantly at the announcement table when all participants were being lined-up to sign an NDA of escorting UPND and never to challenge or criticize HH and GBM. Formation of an alliance ought to be through a thought-out process built on shared national values, true spirit of equality and none opaque agreement made available to the public. You could learn from Bruce Tuckman’s Group development model that is through Forming, Storming, Norming, and Performing stages.    • It’s a tall order for UPND under HH to build a serious and effective alliance because of selfishness and his delusions that he is the immortal God of Zambia with answers to the innumerable problems the country is facing. Unless he is the flag bearer, else the alliance is a case of some interment process. Listening to the recording of Cornelius Mweetwa on Thursday, discussing on Byta FM’s Hot Potato saying, “there won’t be Special Treatment For Tongas When his party UPND Forms Govt” confirmed delusions and struggles of UPND. So this alliance is about UPND forming a Government and not the alliance.

   • Being the democratic party that it is and a believer in the tenets of freedom of speech, the UPND allows its members to freely express their views and opinions.However all UPND officials ….says katuka.
     Does this stooge know when upnd held elections which saw hh voted party president and gbm vice President. Or democracy in upnd means the same as trybalism.
     When was freedom of speech a value for upnd if tayali is beaten up for expressing his opnion.

   • Democracy and HH do not belong in the same sentence. The day Zambia will be doomed is when it will vote in the tribal dictator. He will hold on to the reigns of power forever.

   • The statement by the SG of UPND confirms that HH on his own cannot beat PF or Lungu. They want to use all these small political parties to gain Political Mileage.

     This itself proves that HH is so scared to lose in 2021. UPND are in a total confusion what to do with Lungu.

     This SG is boasting about UPND to be a democratic party. Really that is an insult.

     HH has put an Iron Fist on the party. He has used his money to intimidate the whole party. Its either him or no UPND.

   • Zambian is undergoing one of the worst periods of its history because of the inexperienced, extremely demented
     and unfocused leadership in the opposition party UPNDEAD which remains proud and committed to be a part of failed democratic checks and balances. To a point where whenever the party opens its mouth, it spreads fear and uncertainty to its members. The pact effort remains so unglued as the mainstream party – UPNDEAD.

   Come on Mr Katuka, it two things here. There is Political Freedom and Financial Freedom, and UPND does not have both. Under 5 funds the party and so has a say on your party’s political Freedom.

   When UPND starts to fund itself, without HH input, this party will be liberated and transformed. There is no freedom to talk about. You are all HH’s Economic slaves and that is the truth and you know it.

   Go for an open competitive convention with all your alliance partners to elect leadership. Only then will you gain credibility and traction.

9. Ba Katuta. GBM is just waiting for that alliance to choose another alliance Vice President and a co-running mate to HH. Then you will see whether that alliance will survive. Just test the waters by asking GBM and see his reaction on this. Have you ever asked him? Or ask Chishimba Kambwili what his hopes are in the alliance. You all know the obvious answers from each one of them including your HH. Let’s not hoodwink the people of Zambia that the alliance is for the good of the people of Zambia. Fyabufi fyonse ifyo.

10. Alliance will not save Zambia, but will just another misery because all the people around HH,including himself are looking for money. What is new about Kambwili and other recycled politician? They are looking for cash to inject in their businesses as owners equity.Jesus our Lord is the only Saviour. Every time is an alliance and maintain the same leader, in that UPND is perceived to be big.Even when they had few few Mp’s they wanted to dominate the alliance. WHY DON’T YOU TRY TO MERGE AND FIND A NEW LEADER, people will be a bit convinced that it will be not about HH but their interests.You lack strategy and you are very desperate such that you can opt to have just one opposition party (UPND) in Zambia

Anything is better than PF, a senior citizen should be offering well thought out advice not belittling other citizens as under 5 when he knows that in Zambia no under 5 can maintain an opposition party as long as the so called under 5 has. You destroy the substance of your argument by showing your partiality, thus reducing your self to the same level as the lot of hypocrites in the country.
    Would it not be better to offer sound advice rather than attack the opposition especially that all institutions of governance are compromised, the cynic in me would not be surprised if you are also compromised for reasons best known to yourself. Zambia needs heavyweight substantive senior citizens that should be offering objective advice and not playing personality politics.

14. Alliances will never work in Zambia. Most of these parties are built around individuals. These individuals are very selfish and egocentric in the way they handle these parties. It is a pipedream to think of alliances in Zambia.
    Let UPND fight its own battles like the way Sata did it. He was very tenacious and rigid in the way he provided checks and balances. UPND is very docile in their approach towards national issues. PF,if it has strong opposition, is the easiest party to be kicked out. Now, the opposition that we have is very fragile and useless. They are full of, nothing, but personalities. Alliances formed without an ideology is like a house built on sand.

To the looks of the UPND and the alliance, coalition will not work for their good because clearly HH want to use his friends under the name of ALLIANCE OF 10 POLITICAL PARTIES.From the time HH invited 10 man – alliance its has come to light that UPND alone has no muscle to outwit the mighty PF . Now HH is sliding in front of persuading the church mother bodies of pushing his political agendas ,something that is wrong for his political mileage in the sights of people. People just see despair in politics of HH. 2021 is TOO near for HH to be handsomely receive a big defeat in the hands of PF.

18. The biggest problem for HH is that most things have changed, climate, politics etc. but HH has remained in an old shallow political paradigm. He started by engaging in insults, then hooliganism he ended up in prison. He has now resoted to organising one-man political parties. So when you have 10 political parties don’t count anyting more than 10 votes. GBM brought only himself, HH thought GBM would bring the whole of northern and Muchinga provinces? the rest is history. Unless HH engages in smart politics, his 10 votes from one-man political alliances will not take him anywhere. The voters (electorate) are smarter than most of these politicians. What HH needs is a bit of more enginuity in his political articulation than the old fashioned “Condemn ALL” politics.
