Patriotic Front (PF) Secretary General Hon Davies Mwila has complained against the decision by Prime TV not to air any of the ruling party’s programs.

Mr Mwila said that it was extremely unfortunate that a media institution like Prime TV would decide to completely black out any of the PF’s activities even when its journalists attend and film such assignments.

Mr Mwila made the remarks, yesterday at the PF Headquarters in Lusaka a few minutes before announcing the expulsion of the Bahati lawmaker Hon Harry Kalaba from the ruling party.

“How come Prime TV is here when they have resolved never to broadcast any PF programs and assignments? Why are they here and who invited them?

“Prime TV has opted to completely black out anything concerning PF! They have resolved never to televise anything we do and yet they keep showing up at assignments such as this one for what? It is very unfair to us and I can not tolerate it. I run this thing!,” said Mr Mwila before asking the reporter to leave.

“You film whatever happens here then what? I think you should leave. Please leave.”

    • So this is how it feels for the opposition when DeadNBC doesn’t cover them ….Ba Mwila Chumfweni icho abanenu bomfwa Sha! Too self centred this PF lot small wonder u keep sending yourselves to RSA for treatment ignoring the rest of us

    • What can you expect from this Grade 7 with forged G12 papers…..really laughable…you should have seen this video on social media he couldn’t even sit properly on his seat as he was angry even pounding the table with his small fist. The solution is simple let ZNBC also cover everyone given that everyone pays subscription levy….Prime TV is private …Trump tried the same with CNN and failed.

    • I wonder what PF Media Team will make of this ….the small boys Sunday and Antonia ..let’s see them write an article!!

    • Mwila is right. The private TV is anti-PF and pro-UPNDEAD. It is plain to see how they enjoy filming and showing double h. It’s either been bought by the later or his surrogate or surrogates.
Ba Mwila, if a radio or TV station decide give a blind eye covering you as a party, its not an FBD. Notice them and chase them or bar them from your activities as you have just done. It is obvious that the reporter may have done a good job but the owners of the TV station belong to the UPNDEAD. It they do the same to the Government, bar them from covering Government activities. But journalist can do PJs as freelancer and sell their stories elsewhere. Have mercy on the journalists but the TV station. This is a FBD. FBD = ‘F word’ Big Deal.

    • Media shall cover everybody fairly and squarely. Blacking out ruling party or any opposition party is not professional, moral and ethical.

    • Chiwamila galu kuluma mbuzi, not mbuzi kuluma galu.
DeadNBC, Times of Chambia, Daily Fail also have blacked out opposition.
They only report negativity on opposition even when they’re not received salaries for 4 months & are feeling the pain caused by PF’s failed economic policies.
No country in the world has ever developed through debt or over-taxation.

  1. PRIME TV is a hired gun to fight the government. Even when they televise something then it has to do with the bad happenings in government. They are specialists of bad news on government. On this one I fully agree with you ba Mwila for the first time. Infact it’s long overview.

    • We know where to watch PF nonsense,we dont watch it because it is uninspiring and just reminds us of the hyenas and jackals passing for leaders in Zambia today 2019,a time in history when the world even our neighbours have progressive leaders.
When we watch DeadNBC,we are reminded of the money they have refused to account for whilst ZRA is warning us about taxes, same money they fail to account for, what a dysfunctional government…

    • True. They r hired to jst broadcast negative news about government, which makes their news very boring to me. I look at em to reactivate(negative) pipo.

    • Can you say the same about ZNBC I wonder? We all know they only cover the party in power and cast negativity on the opposition. Let’s try and be objective in the way we discuss national issues.

  2. Why do I suspect Prime TV will now decide to air Mr. Mwiela’s tantrum? Seem like he and PF just don’t get the idea of a free press. Imagine that.

That dictatorship… they have editorial Independence and they are at liberty to air whatever they want. That doesn’t mean you have to kick them out of your media briefing room. PF already have their propaganda mouthpieces and vuvuzelas and they shouldn’t expect everyone to sing their slogans.

It’s a pity because Trump is emboldening these tinpot dictators around the world with his constant ridicule of the media. The difference though is that country is a full democracy with the media still enjoying their rights, and we saw what happened when the judiciary forced the White house to hand back the credentials and pass of CNN’s Jim Acosta.

  4. Mr Mwila please, this is the counsel you should give ZNBC about balanced reporting. Is it normal for you that all defections shown on ZNBC are from UPND to PF the whole year. Does that sound normal to you?

  5. ZNBC does the same to the opposition but Davies Mwila sees nothing wrong. What kind of a secretary general are you?

  6. But he chased their journalists like dogs This shows that Mr Mwila does not like free press. He wants prime tv to be covering PF only. Why is he crying foul?

  7. PF is crying foul when their ZNBC does the same on opposition. What source for the goose is also source for the gender.

  8. Agreed SG Mwila, actually he should have been kicked out not asked to leave. But then it is the same thing anyway, depends how well polished your english is and your manners.

Prime TV is a TRIB.AL TV channel, as Jay Gay will confirm soon.

  9. This is long overdue. Prime TV is always indifferent towards the affairs of PF and the Government. If they report anything on PF they are always reporting rabbish. Their so called news analysts are always attacking PF and Government. To them, Government is always faulty but UPND is always right. Kwaliba ifya so. Awe Prime TV be fair in your reporting p?ease.

    • Ba Sichula your comment is ridiculous to say the least it would make sense if u ended it by asking ZNBC to also balance out coverage and fairly cover the opposition

    • Mambwes are puppets.by nature . Just bcz the bembas support this usrless evill party, they too follow blindly. Because of
their cowardiness, they could not even support their gruntle blave son Mungomba when he ran for presidence or question the slaughterr of their own very few great interllectual son Penza in cold bl0od by govt agents. So what do you expect from a pathetiiic cowarrd from the hills of Mbala in the name of Moses Sichula?? Zero…

  10. PRIME TV has not differentiated PF programs and government programs. For them even good government programs means PF programs. I fully agree with Mwila. Worse still their news analysts they bring are also ma rubbishh yeka yeka.

    • Denkede
Look i dont watch ZNBC because it is useless, stop watching Prime TV as well and follow your great leader’s activities there…

  11. #10.1 Awe Sure, “…Whatever you do in Zambia, Jay Jay lives his life waaaay better than yours…”.

How could that be possible? You mean to say even if I have more than Trib.al Hacks son, Jay Gay will always live a better life? That is the trouble with you trib.al guys, your comments lack thought, deep or shallow thought.

    • What he means is that his life is better because he has acres to fist class medical facilities, continuous running water and electricity and lives in a country where there is freedom of speech. If that is not a better life then I don’t know what is. Don’t get me wrong I’m not talking about money but basic amenities…

  12. Comment:very correct prime TV is too biased, they have no good words for the government. Everything government does prime TV thinks its PF.

  13. May 16, 2016, LT: “Mr Kavindele said the majority of leading opposition leaders are not offering credible opposition as they concentrate on insulting President”.

Remember this? It was true in 2016 as it is today, as it has always been since 2006 (upnd’s fateful year), and as it shall always be unless we Zambians do them a kind favour and bury their carcass.

  14. The more Jay Gay insults the President as Lazy Lungu the more we rally behjnd him and the more he sends his fellow trib.als into oblivion. I mean you trib.als even have the audacity of presenting your trib.al as an alternative leadership for Zambia! You trib.als are even trying to cow and put a bad name on the good people of our southern province. You are just a misguided small trib.al clique that will never succeed.

  15. Mambwes are puppets. .just bcz the bembas support this usrless evill party, they too follow blindly. Because of t their cowardiness, they could not even support their gruntle blave son Mungomba when he ran for presidence or question the slaughterr of their own great son Penza in cold bl0od by govt agents. So what do you expect from a pathetiiic cowarrd from the hills of Mbala in the name of Moses Sichula??

  16. Lest be assured.
If Prime TV wishes to conduct itself like the Zambia Watchdog by the minutest of indication or trace of conduct, it is advantage Government. They will be dealt with without meaningful recourse. Ask Muvi TV and how the radicle Coster disgraced and discredited a once full of life TV station. Journalism is one business you can’t afford to run with radicle minds in Africa. You will be deflated and lose your business just like that. You will then have succeeded from alternative news coverage. You can’t afford to be the opposite of ZNBC, the pro Government media too. But your role is big all the same when you watch unprofessional conduct.

    • We need alternative news sources, such that when we watch news from ZNBC, we do the balance by also listening and viewing other sources. The headach for private TV stations is them being fooled that they are offering opportunity to air views from the opposition without checking and searching their souls. In business, you cannot be allowed to choose who you will serve without your bias being noticed. That I can only treat or attend to you in the hospital if you’re not from that tribe. If you are PF, you don’t stand a chance of being covered. Are you serious Prime? Lastly, media personalities have equal competition to politicians. Thats how Rajoelina made it to the presidency and Mmembe survived conning some of our leaders.

  17. Looming Disaster in Insurance Industry in Zambia
Most of the insurance companies in Zambia are in financial distress due to various reasons, but the main reason for the financial explosion about to happen is the careless, clueless and useless Pensions and Insurance Authority.
First it went on to issue over 20 new licenses in the last 10 years with nil to nothing capital requirements started by novice in the insurance business, companies headed by improper and unfit persons as Principal Officers. Every single year these companies were showing bad underwriting results, unpaid claims and unpaid reinsurance premiums went on piling up, coupled with uncollected insurance premiums. The regulator was sleeping and resorting to dirty corporate and personal liking-disliking politics.
    While the…

  18. While the industry was bleeding and crying for its intervention to ensure the players charge adequate premium rates, it was instead of supporting became an impediment and pushed the industry further down the cliff.
It has failed in its duty to protect the insuring public by ensuring a vibrant industry run on sound insurance principles, sound underwriting philosophy and fair and equitable claim settlement practices.
Market is rife with speculation that a number of insurance companies have not been given licenses and more than that number there are insurance companies that have been issued “conditional” licenses, whatever it means.

  19. ““How come Prime TV is here when they have resolved never to broadcast any PF programs and assignments? Why are they here and who invited them?” This Mwila is the worst secretary general the PF has ever had. Very dull. The should be there whether they want to show your face or not. President Lungu needs to trim some fat in his party.

  20. You are right IFAS, PIA is hopeless. Officers are just chewing tax payers money. They do not protect the insured and worse off are members of these private pension schemes, PIA does not protect them at all. The law should change, scrap PIA and let the private pension schemes be regulated by those running NAPSA. At least there is efficiency at NAPSA.

  21. Mwila is lucky Zambians are humble a foreign media would have humbled and ridiculed him. This is very embarrassing acting like that in 2019. Prime is a private entity and subject to PF standards. Mwila wants them to lie and go out there praising them for what
