Chipolopolo back in action this May

Share

Chipolopolo will return to competitive action in late May when they participate in the 2019 COSAFA Cup in South Africa.

COSAFA on Wednesday confirmed that the 2019 COSAFA Cup is on schedule and will be hosted in Durban from May 25 to June 8.

Durban will host the tournament after initial hosts Zimbabwe withdrew earlier this year.

Zambia will enter the competition in the quarterfinals together with South Africa and defending champions Zimbabwe as the highest ranked sides in the region on the FIFA Rankings.

Chipolopolo have finished runners-up over the last two tournaments to Zimbabwe.

Meanwhile, COSAFA has yet to make the draws for the 14-team tournament that marks its 22nd season this year.

  1. If Chipolopolo use the team played in last match against Namibia, they can win COSAFA.
They should try a goalkeeper from second division, or that Under 20 goalie.

  2. THe under 20 keeper is UNDER FIVE, MWEENE IS THE MAN AND KALUSHA SHOULD FEATURE AS A STRIKER, HE IS STILL ACTIVE WATCH HIM DOING BIG NUMBER LOL.

  3. There is need to build up from the Zambia Namibia acfon qualifier game. Let Aggrey Chiyangi and Numba Mumamba continue from where they left. This will be perhaps the most crucial COSAFA tournament as there will be five countries that have qualified for Egypt 2019. These will use the tournament as a stepping stone in readiness for the Africa cup in June. They all would be happy to go to Egypt with a good record of having performed well in the cosafa and therefore build on their confidence. This is no time to try new players as we shall come back embarrassed once again. Field the best Chipolopolo side at least just add on a few from the side which beat Namibia. To us this will be our afcon 2019 to save face for mother Zambia having failed to make it to Egypt. National pride is at stake…
