Nkana face nemesis Eagles

Share

Beston Chambeshi says they are looking forward to this afternoon’s crucial FAZ Super Division Pool B away clash against Green Eagles despite the recent history that exists between the two sides.

The match comes a fortnight after Pool B leaders Eagles beat Nkana 4-1 away in a rescheduled Week Six match in Kitwe.

But that loss left Nkana with a bitter taste after they witnessed two goals controversially disallowed for offside.

“That was not a true reflection of the game but they picked three points, well and good for Eagles but we have to play the return game and we are looking forward to this game,” Nkana coach Beston Chambeshi said.

But Nkana are unbeaten since that loss on April 24 and head to Eagles after beating FC MUZA 2-1 and a 2-2 away draw against Nkwazi.

However, seventh positioned Nkana remain twelve points off the pace with 16 points from eleven matches with three games in hand in what is now a frantic race by the 2018 runners-up to finish in the top two.

Meanwhile, Nkana are yet to win away in Choma where they have only collected five draws since Eagles made their topflight debut in 2008.

In addition to that, Nkana must not lose at Eagles with because they have another big top three opponent to face at home this Wednesday when they host third placed Buildcon who were on 24 points ahead of Saturday’s home date in Ndola against number two side Nkwazi who have 25 points.
