Green Eagles dreaming of Super Saturday in Choma

Share

Green Eagles coach Aggrey Chiyangi says they have a big date with destiny in their penultimate Pool B league match this Saturday against Lumwana Radiants at Independence Stadium in Choma.

Eagles are on the cusp of history on May 18 knowing a home win in Choma this weekend could see them seal top spot with a match to spare.

They will also become the first Southern Province club to make a top two finishes and challenge for the FAZ Super Division title.

Chiyangi’s side leads Pool B on 32 points, three more than Buildcon who host Nkana on Sunday in Ndola.

“It won’t be an easy game because we know that Lumwana are fighting relegation; meaning that they will come here to push very hard for something,” Eagles coach Aggrey Chiyangi said.

“But they must understand that we are also on a mission and the Lumwana game is the most important game for us on this mission.

“We know that once we beat Lumwana, we would have achieved our mission.

“We are not going to be pushovers but fight to get a better result.”

Eagles beat third from bottom Lowman 1-0 away in the first leg.

Winners from Pool A and B will meet in the 2019 league title playoffs at the month end and both represent Zambia in next season’s CAF Champions League.
