UPND MPs betrayed Zambia, PF will mobilise 120 seats in Parliament in 2021 Elections-Musukwa

Share

The ruling Patriotic Front National Mobilisation Chairman Richard Musukwa has said that the ruling party will work at marshalling over 120 Parliamentary majorities in 2021 to avoid the collapse of future constitutional reforms in Parliament.

Mr Musukwa, who is also Mines Minister, said that the collapse of Bill 10 is an act of betrayal by UPND parliamentarians who acted against national interest.

Mr Musukwa told ZNBC News that the UPND MPs conduct not to support Bill 10 was an act of partisan patronage at the expense of National interest. Mr Musukwa said the PF will call for nationwide solidarity to ensure President Edgar Lungu fulfils the Constitutional reforms agenda after the 2021 polls.

On Thursday, The Constitution Amendment Bill number 10 of 2019 flopped on account that the bill has failed to pass the Second Reading Stage in Parliament as it did not garner the two-thirds majority threshold.

And PF Lusaka Provincial Secretary Kennedy Kamba has expressed shock and disappointment that the UPND celebrated the fall of the Constitution Amendment Bill number 10 of 2019.

Mr Kamba said that the Bill was not for the PF but a document for Zambians to enhance democracy and good governance, adding that it is unfortunate that the people with ill motives destroyed the process through lying to the public that bill 10 was not in the interest of Zambians yet it would have cemented the country’s constitution.

Mr Kamba said that by rejecting Bill 10 the opposition does also not care about issues affecting traditional leaders because clauses in the Bill would have addressed their plight, charging that UPND Leader Hakainde Hachilema does not value Christianity as Bill 10 would have reaffirmed Zambia’s declaration as a Christian nation.

Mr Kamba also appealed to Zambians to vote for President Edgar Lungu who has demonstrated love undoubted commitment and sacrifice for Zambia in the 2021 general election.

Meanwhile, some opposition political party leaders have urged the UPND not to interpret the collapse of bill 10 as their victory in the forthcoming 2021 general election.

National Congress Party Leader Peter Chanda said that it is clear that the UPND has been made to believe that the collapse of the bill will usher their leader into State House.

And Zambia Republican Party leader Write Msona said the move by the UPND to reject the bill is an indication that the party is an enemy of progress, while Zambian DNA Spokesperson Spuki Mulemwa said the collapse of bill 10 is the end of the UPND.

The Movement for Promoting National Values and Principles said that celebrating the failure of the bill 10 demonstrates the ill motives that some opposition leaders have for this country.

Organisation Chief Executive Officer Joseck Kunda said that is saddened that some opposition political party leaders are celebrating the collapse of the bill which would have addressed several lacunas in the constitution.

Mr. KUNDA says Zambians have lost a precious opportunity of having a credible document that could have helped in clearing some anomalies and misunderstandings.

  1. Ba PF shows you are dull. How can you submit a constitutional amendment that requires two thirds to pass when you don’t have those numbers? You are useless. You operate with no plan, same like you have run the country. 2021 zambians should kick you out, even for a village boy.

  2. These nashalaneka brief case parties will soon be eating another humbling country pie when Lungu and his PF are booted out of Govt.
People have suffered enough but these vockroaches are happy siphoning the little blood left from PF. The PF is going in just a few months and idyots like Pule and Musoma will die with them. That is the reality they wont be able to resist. I wont be surprised if they moved camp to UPNDC afterwards as praise singers in order to survive.

  4. Its not just UPND MPs who voted against Bill 10.Three PF MPs, 1 NDC and several Independent MPs helped defeat Bill 10. PF must address the reasons why their own MPs voted against the Party Position and Bill 10.

  5. I once said that this PF government is one of the weakest government formed in Zambia’s history.

You can tell by the arrogance of its officials.

Listening is party of good governance and ignore it at your own peril.

Don’t worry you will soon found yourselves in opposition. People are angry and not even ECZ and courts shall save you.

Prepare for good showdown next year umodzi azakanya manzi yeka yeka.

    PF must go!

  6. “Bill 10 could have cemented the constitution of Zambia” ? What a joker. A constitution is the basis of a country’s modus operandi. It does not need enforcement at all. From call boy to constitution lawyer!?@? Kennedy’s thinking is flawed.

Instead this bill was going to enable Chagwa to manipulate the constitution for his perpetual stay.

Honestly how do you expect a lab tech and kaponyas be your advisors? Cry my beloved country

  7. So PF had bought 6 UPND MPs but only 3 UPND MPs kept their promises and voted for Bill 10. The 3 UPND MPs dribbled the PF Bribing Team and voted against Bill 10. The PF didn’t anticipate 3 of their own MPs voting against Bill 10. Surely PF should have done their home work and factored this defection. PF were naive to call for a 2/3 majority vote on this Bill without assured numbers.Well PF made their Bed and they must sleep in it.

  8. I am too so very extremely confident that the Hupndead numbers in parley will dwindle in 2021 due to the immature behavior exhibited by these black bloody thirsty sodomite walk-away misrepresentative bad-egg odour members of parliament.

A moment of reckoning. I can’t wait to retire kleptoh². If he decides to stay on after 2021, I will not tire until uyu pompwe retires in 2026. Hopefully he gets the bitter message in 2021.
Its only approximately 9 months before polls folks. 9months for Zambia to give birth again (reusher) POTROZ ECL back to State House.

  11. Iwe kamba, what good governance are you talking about? Where on earth would you allow mps to continue in office after parliament is dissolved and you call this no
sense good governance. You own president failed to honor the constitution by telling mps to remain in office and failure to handover power to the speaker while partition is in court, what makes you think once you amend the constitution he is going to respect it? Do what is right, UNIP was once in power for 27 years and the zambia people voted kk out.

  13. Really…..you seriously expected UPND to vote with you ? You belittle them on national TV ati “Wanyala”, call them cockroaches & rats and incessantly harass them for mobilising & during campaigns and you expected them to vote with you ? This kind of optimism is unhealthy. Didn’t you know that those one man parties you were courting don’t vote in parley ? Well only time will tell come 2021…..

  14. PF can’t you just accept the Bill 10 thing? Why kill Lukuku over that? You fvcking Zanu-PF.

  15. As for the target of 120 MPs next year, we can only wish you the best. But there is the little matter of an ailing economy to rectify in 9 short months while tackling a suffocating debt in billions of dollars….Bill 10 flop just negated the “sole candidate” mantra & entrenched the “lame duck” perception. We await to see what emerges from the political woodwork before/during party convention. Great time to be alive for sure… Kaya

  16. Why are the upnd diasporans angry about this article? Is it because they know it is possible for us to garner 120 seats? Is this bothering them? Why should it when they said that bill 10 collapse is a sign of their guaranteed victory next year?

The upnd know deep down that they cannot enter state house with their current crop of leadership. Hh is a proven election loser in the world. I saw a clip of upnd members at hh house supposedly celebrating the collapse of a bill that never was. I couldn’t believe how unhealthy they all looked. Further, their dancing is terrible. Very stiff dancing. Remember that being a bad dancer is reflected by poor performance in the bedroom. Napita

  17. It’s only the PF who have lost that opportunity not the Zambian people, all PF MP’S voted for the bill some UPND MP’S who were present and independent MP’S didn’t vote while other UPND MP’S stayed away as a way to vote a NO. So why are the PF crying foul over what others did when all their MP’S seemingly had one mind to vote for the bill. Bill 10 was a PF evil agenda and we thank God it is gone.

  18. There it is…this is how dull these chaps are like this Primary School tutor Musukwa…to him its not about selling and articulating his party’s policys but just bulldozing them in Parliament…unfortunately these are Lazy Lungu’s advisers no wonder the mines are in a mess with such cowboys as ministers.

  19. We shall politically mutilate dishonest dear kleptoh² and the inept yupndead in 2021 and I will live every moment this fun will generate.
    I foresee a total whitewash.

  20. “Musukwa told ZNBC News that the UPND MPs conduct not to support Bill 10 was an act of partisan patronage at the expense of National interest…. the PF will call for nationwide solidarity to ensure President Edgar Lungu fulfils the Constitutional reforms agenda after the 2021 polls.”

Its sad we have such dull people as MP and Ministers, this man clearly has no understanding of what a democracy is….how do you expect the opposition to debate Bill 10 when they walked out of NDF citing that it was not people driven and had already its conclusion. Who is going to pay for this nationwide solidarity to keep Lazy Lungu into power; what is it in the constitution that you want reformed when national debt is over 20 billion dollars…these people are so detached from reality now and they…

  21. Musukwa, if at all you will manage 12 seats, just 10% of your wicked dream, then Zambia will change its name to the Republic of Chainama.

  22. KZ, Musukwa etal, Many PF MPs voted against Bill 10 and many more will vote against PF government in 2021. Smart MPs read the changing times and do not want to sink with the boat. Watch the space. Remember most current MPs in PF are from MMD and will move with their constituencies to a winning party – UPND.

  23. The minister of justice, or justice minister spoke wisely about this. He thanked the Zambian people for declining bill ten. From there you move on. No the bootlicking ministers had to voice their opinions. Zambia fails due to dull people being in positions of power.

  24. This guy has completely failed to manage the mining sector and he is dreaming of 120 seats next year. Its free to dream.

  25. Constitution making process is for ALL people not for a Political party. This arrogance must STOP. You rejected a neutral process to be chaired by the Church. Blame your selves for the failure and waste of money spent. Next time focus on the people not individual benefits.
