Numba Laments Zesco United’s Setback in Eswatini

Coach Mumamba Numba is gutted by Zesco United’s 1-0 loss to Royal Leopards of Eswatini in the away CAF Champions League match played on Saturday.

Defender Solomon Sakala scored an own goal in this first leg match of the preliminaries.

Numba said Zesco must blame themselves for failing to score from many chances created.

He told reporters in Eswatini that Zesco would have easily won the match had they been perfect in front.

“Firstly, I must say we are very disappointed with the loss. I think this is a game we could have won easily,” Numba said.

“We created numerous chances but unfortunately we could not convert those chances. We were not clinical at goal so we just have to blame ourselves for the loss.”

After the lamentations, Numba expressed confidence that Zesco will reverse the loss to Leopards in this weekends return match at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.

“Ofcourse it won’t be an easy game but we have a team that can turn the tables. I think losing 1-0 is something that we can offset as we go back to Zambia,” he said.
