Archbishop….is seizure of Icipaso the reason for your ‘beef-meat’ with Bally?

This past week, some embarrassing news, which we suspect has definitely left an Ostrich egg on someone’s face, emerged. On Monday, the Economic and Financial Crimes Court condemned former Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) Commissioner General, Kingsley Chanda, to 6 years in prison for irregularly awarding Patriotic Front sympathizers, including the Lusaka Archbishop, Alick Banda, government vehicles. Ba DEC immediately swung into action and seized a Toyota Hilux from the Archbishop, registration number ALF 7734.

These impressive SUVs, commonly known as “lfipaso” in our local parlance, don’t come that cheap…..they can cost quite an arm and a leg!

One is therefore left with no option, but to wonder the thrust of the Archbishop’s seemingly continued antagonism, bitterness and cantankerous attitude towards the New Dawn Administration? Not so long ago, a meeting was called by State House with Catholic Bishops to iron-out perceived differences or misunderstandings. Archbishop was conspicuous is his absence, when he was actually a regular guest during the days of PF in power. What do we make of this?

September 29th is a special day in the church calendar as it is the day of the Archangels . On this day, the church honors the three most important archangels: Michael, Gabriel and Raphael.

This year, the Archbishop used the occasion to pray for unity in the nation and against ethnic divisions!

“We call to an end the current divisive politics that have beleaguered our nation….”prayed the Archbishop.

Aikona man! Archbishop Banda is a wrong person to preach about peace and unity in the nation! Where was the Archbishop, when out of 30 cabinet ministers, President Lungu allocated a paltry 4 slots to the so-called Zambezi provinces? How come the Archbishop chose to look the other way when President Lungu recklessly gave all the 31 Permanent Secretary jobs to his kith and kin, save for 3 for the said provinces? Isn’t a scandal that President Lungu could only dispatch 3 individuals from Central, Western, North Western and Southern provinces into the foreign missions? How come the Archibishop chose to remain mute in the face of such injustice?

Please spare us a moment Archbishop; we are far intelligent and much wiser to read between the lines. Try next time, Sir!

    They are mostly hasslers

  2. A lion in a sheep’s skin. For God’s sake let him resign and join the opposition political party.

  3. The Roman Catholic Church has always received stolen goods. This is how it survived the Mafia and the IRA. This how it survives South American drug cartels. ‘Forgive me father for I have sinned.’ ‘How long ago since your last confession?’ ‘One week father.’ What have you done my son?’ ‘I have stolen some cars.’ ‘Bring one to me and say 10 Hail Marys. The Lord absolve you of all your sins. Go in peace.’

  4. Frank bwalya at least was honest and ditched the cloth for politics which he was practicing as a preacher but this one doesn’t want to let go but continue being an opposition cadre using the pulpit as a stepping stone.

  5. Alick Banda a wolf in sheep’s clothing behind the pulpit. God sees who is serving him in truth.

  6. Does it mean if somebody did not speak out about a wrong in the last regime, they cant speak about the same wrong later in another regime. What type of thinking is that surely. Archibishop has every right to speak when ever he wants to, even if he did not then, absolutely no offence here. So stop your bad dream Kapinga

    • The quetion is why being quiet? He can answer that himself, dont appoint yourself as deputy archbishop. Some of us have always known that these priests were wolves in sheep clothing. Quiet when Zambia lost citizens to shootings by the police, gassing, violence in the markets and streets, etc. Ziiiiiiiiii awe this one he needs to answer himslef.

  7. I wonder why people listen to these so called priests, they are scammers to the Cole. Innocent people have lost lives because of religion. My question is simple, some of these churches are as old as 300 years old, how did they handle Slavery. The gigantic crime against humanity
