Government has completed the full disbursement of the 2025 Constituency Development Fund (CDF) allocations to all the 156 constituencies in Zambia.
Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development Permanent Secretary for Administration, Gabriel Pollen revealed that the final tranche of K717.3 million has been released by the Ministry of Finance and National Planning.
Dr Pollen, who was speaking at a media briefing in Lusaka today, said the disbursement marks the full funding of the 2025 CDF allocation.
“The Ministry of Finance has released the final K717.3 million to our ministry, bringing the total disbursement for this year to K5.6 billion. This represents 100 percent funding of the 2025 CDF budget,” he revealed.
He explained that the funds are intended to drive local economic transformation by empowering communities to implement development initiatives tailored to their specific needs.
Dr Pollen added that community participation remains a key pillar of the CDF implementation process as it allows residents to determine projects that best suit their local contexts.
The Permanent Secretary has since commended the Ministry of Finance and National Planning for ensuring the timely release of funds.
He has meanwhile urged all 116 local authorities to expedite the use of CDF resources before the end of the year so that citizens can begin to benefit from the completed projects.
“I wish to implore all local authorities to fully utilise their CDF allocations before the end of this year so that the public can truly benefit from these resources,” Dr Pollen said.

That is what a highly efficient do.
Its now up to the constituencies to act and provide services to the people.
