Lumezi Member of Parliament, Lufeyo Ngoma, says the new ambulance which was procured using the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) has brought much-needed relief to the people in the district.
Mr Ngoma thanked President Hakainde Hichilema for the ambulance, saying it was a long-awaited relief for the people of Lumezi.
“The ambulance is a vital asset in saving lives, given Lumezi’s vast terrain, which includes both valley and plateau areas,” Mr Ngoma said.
Mr Ngoma hinted at plans to deploy one of the ambulances to the valley to improve emergency response.
“We have three chiefdoms based in the valley, Chieftainess Mwanya, Kazembe, and Chikomeni. We plan to put one ambulance in the valley so that it can be working from that side, making it easier to respond to emergencies,” he said.
He has since called on the district health team to take care of the ambulance, ensuring it stands the test of time.
Mr Ngoma is optimistic that progress is guaranteed in Lumezi because of the expanded CDF.
