Journalist Mutale Mwanza has pleaded not guilty to a charge of cyber harassment against media personality Mwansa Lufumba, also known as Chichi Daisy.
The 38-year-old is charged with Harassment utilizing means of electronic communication, contrary to Section 69 of the Cyber Security and Cyber Crimes Act.
It is alleged that on November 7, 2024, the accused, associated with M-Nation, used the M-Nation Facebook page with the intent to intimidate, harass, or cause emotional distress to Ms. Lufumba. On that platform, Ms. Mwanza allegedly published harassing words against Ms. Lufumba, who is also an actress, accusing her of having sex with a politician, among other utterances.
Appearing before Lusaka Magistrate Mbuywana Sinvula, the accused stated she is a journalist aged 38 and provided her residential address. After the charge was read, Ms. Mwanza, who was without a lawyer, pleaded not guilty.
Public prosecutor Chipo Gura, not being the one in conduct of the case, requested an adjournment. The matter will resume on December 22, 2025, for mention.
Ms. Mwanza is not a stranger to lawsuits. In 2023, a University Teaching Hospitals doctor sued the journalist for alleged trauma following a road altercation involving a gun. Last year, a media entity sued her for libel over defamatory remarks about their awards.
