UPND Warns Public Against Misleading Opinion Polls

The United Party for National Development (UPND) has urged members of the public to disregard opinion polls circulating on social media, describing them as misleading and lacking credibility ahead of the 2026 general elections.

UPND National Deputy Spokesperson Elvis Nkandu said many of the polls shared online are not conducted by credible research institutions but are intended to mislead the public and influence perceptions of political support.

Nkandu expressed concern that some individuals are using unverified online platforms to circulate what he described as fabricated opinion polls aimed at attracting attention and creating unnecessary political debate.

Speaking to the media in Solwezi, Nkandu encouraged citizens to be cautious and avoid relying on information that cannot be verified.

He advised the public to instead assess government development programmes and policies, including initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure, strengthening the economy and promoting youth empowerment.

Nkandu added that the UPND administration remains committed to fulfilling its development agenda.

  1. Warn all you want !!1 An opinion is like an asumption
Stop your nonsense of trying to muzzle the people
    Verification is advised at times

  2. Very soon it will be a crime to even conduct an opinion poll. Worse still if you publish or even circulate any opinion poll which is not favoring the ruling party.

  3. Yes they are busy looking for a way to add it to Cyber crime act. These oppressors!! Now they have seen how sweet the throne is it is:
Only UPND should talk, only UPND should steal, only UPND should overtake the presidential motorcade, only UPND should win opinion polls

  4. Stop being Idiots……verification should be done by verified research institutions. A Reserach Institution with track record of performing market research.

You cant take a podcast by one individual as verified official survey. Come on…..

Its not credible because…..its NOT independent. Thats more of a PF or Opposition project. Its just being used :
    1) as a vehicle to create a debate to solve the opposition leadership empasse
    2) content for more followers to be used in campaign – i garantee you whoever visited that page will be bombarded with campaign ads during the campaign period
    3) content for more followers for future monitazation
