ZA President and ICR Chairman Major Bernard Bwalya officially launched the 26th Inter Company Relay (ICR), Zambia’s largest corporate wellness and fundraising sporting event on Thursday in Lusaka.

Theme: “Celebrating 26 Years of Corporate Partnerships, Athletic Excellence, and National Health Together, We Can Win.”

Founded in 1999, the ICR is aimed at promoting health, teamwork, and national unity while raising funds for athletics development across Zambia.

The 10km Inter Company Relay, CEO and Directors’ races. 5km health walk, 10km and 21km individual races are the categories lined up at the event.

In his speech, Maj. Bwalya called for increased sponsorship and participation, emphasizing that the ICR remains a vital platform for promoting national health, corporate engagement, and sports development.

He said the ICR continues to play a critical role in driving wellness, unity, and national development through sport.

“This year’s event targets to raise over K2 million, which will support: youth athletics development and talent identification, preparation of athletes for regional and international competitions and strengthening provincial athletics structures,” Maj. Bwalya said.
