The Public Private Dialogue Forum (PPDF) has held the fourth Agriculture Technical Working group meeting aimed at addressing delayed matters relating to the agricultural sector.
Speaking during the event, Zambia National Farmers Union (ZNFU) Board Director Ian Robinson, said that the engagement will drive the agriculture sector forward, through meaningful discussions.
Mr Robinson noted that there is a lot of work to do in order to achieve the agriculture targets set by President Hakainde Hichilema.
He noted that the forum is a good platform to discuss matters relating to the industry, while appreciating the progress made so far in agriculture.
“We are a key driver of the economy and for that, we have a lot of work to do to bring agriculture forward and achieve the goals set out by the President himself, who is a farmer,” added Mr Robinson.
And he expressed optimism for more collaboration among industry players in order to take agriculture to the next level.
Meanwhile, Ministry of Agriculture Permanent Secretary for Technical Services, John Mulongoti, was happy that new agenda items were brought forward at the meeting.
He implored the stakeholders to meet more often so that underlying issues affecting the sector are constantly resolved.
