FAZ, Nora Häuptle Resolve Outstanding Issues Ahead of WAFCON

The Football Association of Zambia and Copper Queens head coach Nora Häuptle have resolved all outstanding matters following a series of meetings with FAZ president Keith Mweemba.

According to Acting FAZ Deputy General Secretary Iva Lengwe, Häuptle has since submitted her travel itinerary and is expected in Zambia ahead of the Four Nations Tournament scheduled for the June FIFA international window.

The tournament will feature Zambia, Kenya, Zimbabwe and Burkina Faso.

Lengwe said Coach Häuptle will lead the Copper Queens at the forthcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations finals.

He added that the FAZ Secretariat remains committed to ensuring that the Copper Queens are adequately prepared for the WAFCON tournament in July as well as other upcoming international assignments.

Lengwe also thanked the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts and members of the public for their continued concern and support towards the national women’s team.

The development was confirmed in a statement issued by FAZ Head of Media and Communications Nkweto Tembwe.

  1. Welcome back coach Haaputule (this is the Mazabuka spelling of your surname). Your beauty will grace the scene even if the Copper Queens results are not so forthcoming.
