National Rugby League defending champions Mufulira Leopards maintained their perfect start to the 2026 season following a 14-6 win over Green Eagles away in Kabwe.
This was Mufulira’s third consecutive win in the three-game old 2026 season.
Mufulira overcame Eagles after placing two tries which they converted successfully.
Eagles only managed a paltry two penalties on the day.
Mufulira have a five-point lead at the top of the table with 14 points in three matches played.
Eagles are number five on the log after accumulating six points in four games.
Eagles have posted one win and three defeats so far in the season.
Meanwhile, former champions Red Arrows are second on the table after edging Nkwazi 17-13 in the Lusaka derby.
Arrows overcame Nkwazi after placing two tries which they converted successfully and furthermore scored a penalty.
Nkwazi on the other hand, placed one try which they converted and scored two penalties on the day.
Second placed Arrows have nine points from two games played while Nkwazi are number four on the table after collecting six points in two games.
In the other top league match, Buffaloes thrashed Kansanshi 46-9 in Lusaka.
This match produced the highest score-line in the elite rugby league.
Despite the huge win, Buffaloes are third from the bottom of the table with five points in two games.
Kansanshi are second from the bottom of the eight-team league after posting five points from three games.
In Division Two, Konkola are commanding the top and in the Women’s League Buffaloes are the table toppers.
