Zambians Have Already Told Us We Have Won – Makebi

Presidential aspirant Makebi Zulu says the strong public reaction following the merger between Tonse Alliance and PF/Pamodzi Alliance has convinced the opposition that victory is within reach ahead of the August 13 general elections.

Speaking during a joint opposition press briefing yesterday, Zulu said the response from citizens after the alliance announcement demonstrated growing support for opposition unity and political change.

“When we announced that the two alliances were coming together, the overwhelming response from Zambians told us that we have won this election,” Zulu said.

He explained that opposition political parties had agreed to support a single candidate as part of efforts to unseat the ruling UPND government.

According to Zulu, opposition leaders had resolved to set aside personal ambitions and work together in the interest of the country.

“We are going to stand for one, and one is going to stand for all,” he stated.

Zulu further said opposition leaders had listened to calls from citizens who have been demanding greater unity among opposition political parties.

He disclosed that the opposition coalition would soon announce a single presidential candidate to represent the united front in the upcoming elections.

  2. Already won an election which is due in August? Cry my beloved country if such rift rafts were to rule. This is a North-East tribal alliance which is meant to split Northern Rhodesia into two and oppress Northwestern Rhodesia once again.

  3. Here we go again boasting about winning ? becomes tribal ??? what about the incumbent telling us he’s done this and that when most cant see anything but foreigners everywhere and our natural rescourses dissappearing
