Preparations for this year’s Mutomolo Traditional Ceremony of the Mambwe people of Senga Hill, Mpulungu, and Mbala districts have reached an advanced stage.
Speaking in an interview with the media this morning, Mambwe Cultural Association Chairperson, Felix Mambwe said the organizing committee is almost done preparing the main arena for the event.
Dr Mambwe stated that this year’s Mutomolo Traditional Ceremony is scheduled to take place from June 24 to 27, 2026, with the main event expected to be held on June 27.
Dr Mambwe has since appealed to all individuals and organizations that pledged support towards the ceremony to honour their pledges in order to facilitate smooth preparations and ensure the success of the event.
Meanwhile, a check by the media revealed that workers are currently putting a concrete slab on the main structure to strengthen it against strong winds.
The Mutomolo Traditional Ceremony is an annual cultural event of the Mambwe people aimed at preserving and promoting their traditional values and cultural heritage.
