Police in Lusaka on Monday arrested Former Defence Minister Geoffrey Mwamba’s son Peter for assaulting musician Kachanana Simata.

Police spokes person Charity Chanda confirmed to ZNBC news in an interview that Mr. Mwamba was arrested and detained at woodlands police after being summoned by the police.

Ms. Chanda says Mr. Mwamba, 30, of Avondale assaulted the musician when she went to demand for her money from him.

She says Mr. Mwamba has since been released on police bond and will soon appear before the courts.

  1. So? Why not put the picture of Peter there instead of GBM? He did his part by bringing him on earth and he is not going to be involved in his son’s day to day dealings. By the way why not shed more light on how Kachanana went to demand for her money form the Tycoon’s son. Did she give him on account?

    • As much as I thought too, thanks @ Me. The report should have given the name Peter Mwamba without drawing GBM into it! This is suspect malicious reporting by Lusaka Times! Its only that cases take too long to conclude in Zambia for if mediocre reporting was ever sued we’d see some improvement.

    • @Me, very correct observation. These are the failed UNIP behaviors that we are still carrying while singing about being in pluralistic times. Remember how KK tried to punish Sata’s father for the perceived sins of his son. We need an overhaul of our mindsets starting with the media itself. Disheartening to imagine these are young, dynamic editors who must know better!

  2. ldiotic reporting. where are the details? is she a prosttiute? are they a couple? this is ussless reporting LT

  3. These are UPND members…….ever violent where ever they are and they think Zambians can entrust them with leadership of this great Country.Never ever.

    • Jackass Katondo Boys, have you now settled down and reconciled yourself with your posting in SA? Is that how you can once more afford to blog?

  4. UPND supporters are very touchy mwe! They say that a fruit does not fall far from a tree but in their desperation for power UPND will embrace any character including ones like GBM with his long history of gender based violence and issuing of false statements aimed at marginalising members of the Tonga ethnic group.

  5. Like father like son all they can do is beat people and kachana must not withdraw the case so that the boy is caged

  6. Reporting in Zambia leaves you hungry. Why was she demanding for money anyway from the son to GBM? What has GBM got to do with this?

  7. GBV! Why do men feel it’s necessary to lay a hand on a woman? Kanshi ninshi? Go in a ring with a professional boxer and let’s see who’ll win. Grow up ba fi-kala!
