Chief Kafwimbi provides 130 hectares to Government women and youth programes

Chief Kafwimbi of the Namwanga speaking people of Isoka district in Muchinga province has given the Ministry of Gender 130 hectares of land for development.
The 130 hectares is meant for women and youth developmental programmes.

Isoka district Gender focal person Geshom Jere disclosed this to ZANIS In Isoka today.

Mr. Jere, who is also Isoka District Administrative officer, has since thanked the traditional leader and his head men for taking keen interest in gender development activities meant to reduce perpetual poverty.

He said the traditional leader’s willingness to give land to government for agricultural purposes was worth praising.

He noted that 100 hectares is from headman Lima Mutengo area while 30 hectares is from headman Kalemekela both of chief Kafwimbi’s chiefdom.

Speaking earlier headman Lima Mutengo, Green Siame, thanked government for setting aside development programmes that involve rural women and youths.

Mr. Siame said he decided to give 100 hectares of land to government because he was very excited about the news of women and youth empowerment in the area.

And headman Kalemekela David Siame said he was happy to associate himself with government development strides especially that it focuses on typical rural women and youths.

Mr. Siame said the 30 hectares given to government was blessed with good climatic conditions.

And women representative Maggie Siame has thanked chief Kafwimbi for the land.

Mrs. Siame said women were ready to put the land into good use especially that government was going to empower them with a tractor.

She said women in Isoka district were hardworking and will strive to reduce poverty at household level and increase food production.

The Ministry of Gender is currently empowering women and youths with tractors and other advance farming implements.

    Cheap land is hard to come by these days, especially now that Zambians know how money smells like.

  2. Meanwhile some Zambians are selling land to foreigners like that Egyptian guy (Mohamad) with rotten teeth who bought land for at least 300,000 US$ “Three Hundred Thousand US Dollars from Zambian siblings.
